7 Low-Key Yet Elegant Outfits Minimalists Will Wear Nonstop This Winter
Putting together an outfit can be a lot of fun, but everyone has mornings when they just don't have the effort to give to it. When such a mood strikes, you need a roster of backup looks to riffle through; those you know you feel (and look) good in every time.
Whether you consider yourself a minimalist or not, sometimes the wisest thing to do is to opt for simplicity. Sure, a jumper and jeans might not seem exciting, but if it's going to get you from A to B while keeping you stylish—yes, this combo will forever be considered stylish—then it's worth leaning on occasionally.
But there are other, less-obvious, outfit formulas I'm keen to share with you. They're just as easy as jeans and a knit, but with a little extra flair that will let those around you know you're clued into the latest fashion. From the addition of classic boots to trending tailoring, these looks have that ineffable ‘je ne sais quoi’. I'm sure you'll agree—scroll on to see and shop.
CHIC MINIMALIST OUTFITS TO TRY FOR WINTER 2024:
1. Knitted Vest + White Shirt + Tailored Trousers + Loafers
Style Notes: No, we're still not over knitted vests. Only because we haven't run out of ways to wear them yet. Polished and put-together, this is a foolproof combination for the office or meeting friends in the city for brunch.

This will work hard in your wardrobe year round.
2. Long Coat + Trousers + Mary-Janes
Style Notes: Trying to break your habit of wearing nothing but black? Same. This all-neutrals look is definitely one I'm going to recreate.
Shop the Look:
This would also make an ideal cover-up for evening events.
3. Cable Knit + Long Skirt + Loafers
Style Notes: The quickest way to smarten up a plain cable knit is by adding a long skirt and smart loafers. Very elegant.
Shop the Look:
4. Neutral Blazer + Trousers + Ballet Flats
Style Notes: A neutral blazer is one of the best sartorial investments you can make. It goes with everything, but it looks especially classic with tonal trousers and ballet flats.
Shop the Look:
I've heard only great things about Abercrombie's trousers.
The two-tone contrasting make these ballet flats look extra elevated.
5. Knit Dress + Wool Coat + Boots
Style Notes: Knitted dresses are both current and classic, and they look really chic every shade under the sun. Black heeled boots continue to be a top footwear choice, and is such an easy way to elevate a simple beige dress.
Shop the Look:
Swap out the coat's belt for this chic leather and gold iteration.
6. Jumper + Leather Trousers + Boots
Style Notes: When minimalists want to add a little more interest to their outfits, they opt for a simple, leather trousers and a printed knit. Tonal accessories help to complete the look.
Shop the Look:
I honestly think these are the chicest boots on the high street right now.
7. Scarf Coat + Loafers
Style Notes: If you're concerned with keeping up with the trends, scarf coat should be top of your to-buy list for winter 2024. Contrast this with a more structured pair of loafers for an effortlessly chic look.
Shop the Look:
Wherever you're going and whatever you're up to, these tan loafers are a safe choice.
