Everyone I Know Has a Perfume From This Viral French Brand on Their Wish List
Even before TikTok discovered it, some of us were longtime fans of chic French perfume house Maison Francis Kurkdjian for its refined and complex scents. They're truly unlike anything I've ever smelled, and slowly, I'm building up a collection of my must-haves. The current TikTok favorite is definitely Baccarat Rouge 540, but I can almost guarantee it won't be the only scent from the brand to go viral.
Whether you like something musky, woody, or a sweeter floral scent, Maison Francis Kurkdjian has something for you. I don't usually like to attach gender to fragrances, but I think this particular French house is so good at balancing traditionally feminine and masculine elements in each of its fragrances. They really do smell deliciously intoxicating on everyone. If you've been thinking of taking the plunge and investing in one yourself, keep scrolling below. I got a well-rounded list of the best sellers straight from the brand that will help you decide.
1. Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum
Key notes: jasmine, saffron, cedarwood, ambergris
I'm not usually a fan of saffron-smelling perfumes, but this sophisticated scent remains a best seller (and TikTok-user obsession) due to its complex nature. There are so many different layers to it, from the lighter notes of jasmine to earthy cedarwood, but it never feels overly heavy. Many would be so bold as to say it's one of the best perfumes on the market.
Customer Review: "This is the most amazing fragrance. I resisted purchasing it for the longest time, because justifying the expense to my hubby for perfumes of this caliber can be challenging. Regardless, it is worth every cent! This is one of those fragrances that are so subtle, that once you put it on you do not smell it anymore, but I assure you... others will!!! I work in the legal/justice field... I have been in court during an active hearing and had a defendant risk contempt charges to ask me what I was wearing! That alone speaks volumes!..."

2. Gentle Fluidity Gold Eau de Parfum
Key notes: juniper berry oil, nutmeg oil, coriander seed oil, musks, ambery woods, vanilla blend
Gentle Fluidity Gold is a sweet, warm, and alluring scent that is the counterpart to the brand's Silver edition. It may be a bit too sweet for some, but if you like an elegantly honey-ed perfume, it's just the pick for you.
Customer Review: "A sweet, warm and inviting scent, sure to get a multitude of compliments. Everywhere I go, people are curious what I’m wearing and saying MFK in its entirety was a feat in itself. Lol. It is unique in that it’s almost candy-like but not in a cloying way. I love it. First buy from this fragrance house, can’t wait to get another of their offerings next!"

3. Oud Satin Mood Eau de Parfum
Key notes: violet accord, damascena rose essence from Bulgaria, rose absolute from Turkey, natural oud from Laos, benzoin from Siam, amber, vanilla accord
Woody and slightly smoky, Oud Satin Mood is a shaded and complex scent that packs a punch. It's a best seller for the brand due to its intriguing and mysterious nature.
Customer Review: "As far as unisex fragrances go, this one definitely veers more towards the masculine, however, it's a sweet, addictive, and unique fragrance, and even if I don't feel confident enough to pull this one off at work or social gatherings, I still keep a tiny vial of it just for me, and me alone, for my own smelling pleasure. Despite the 'Oud' references, the oud note itself is never overpowering, not in the eau de parfum and not in the extrait either..."

The customer support at Bloomingdales helped me try this scent and it's AMAZING. I even purchased the laundry detergent version to add an extra layer. Thank you!! I have received compliments every time I wear it. Can't wait for shelter in place to be over so others can smell this wonderful scent."
