As you probably know by now, we talk about our love for elevated basics a lot here at Who What Wear—pieces that are timeless and classic in nature yet still feel of-the-moment and cool. As a fashion editor, I'm lucky enough to try and test out a whole host of chic staples from a range of retailers and brands and, of course, share my absolute favorites with you, our dear readers.

Nothing encapsulates quiet-luxury basics quite like Gwyneth Paltrow's fashion brand, G. Label by Goop—a line grounded in effortless, timeless, and fresh classics with a focus on quality, craftsmanship, fit, fabric, and construction. I took advantage of the launch of its latest fall collection to finally pop my G. Label cherry and try some of its anti-trend pieces for myself. The fall collection is exactly what the cooler weather calls for: sweaters that strike a balance between chic and cozy and a whole host of refined basics like trousers, T-shirts, layering-friendly tank tops, and classic coats, all done in luxurious, natural fabrics.

There's no denying the brand's dedication to quality is reflected in G. Label's high prices. These are the kind of investment items you choose with care and consideration, made for your forever wardrobe. Below I'm sharing six pieces that I tried, loved, and personally believe are worth the splurge. From a timeless peacoat to a very Gwyneth gray cashmere sweater, keep scrolling below as I take you through some of my favorite pieces from the fall collection. The Puff-Sleeve Polo Sweater

I love a knit top that feels chic enough to wear day or night, and this grown-up take on the polo absolutely hits the spot. Made from 100% Italian cashmere, it has a beautiful slim fit—ideal for styling with wide-leg jeans or tailored trousers and features feminine three-quarter-length sleeves. My favorite part is its gently puffed shoulders, which add a unique and fashion-forward touch to the classic polo. It's incredibly versatile. I've already worn this to work events, my kids' school events, lunch dates—the list goes on. For reference I am wearing a size XS.

The Long-Cuff Crew & the Sleek Knit Skirt

Talk about a great set. While the sweater and skirt obviously work wonderfully as separate pieces, when worn together, the magic happens, and you get an elevated monochrome fall outfit that stands out from the crowd.

The sweater comes in several colors, but I was immediately drawn to the fashion-forward martini-green hue (a big color trend we've already been talking about a lot this fall). Made from an Italian mid-weight wool, its chunky collar, slouchy fit, and subtle ribbing throughout give it a soft but substantial feel. The sleeves are designed to be knuckle grazing—it looks just as cool long as it does cuffed at the wrist. This is the kind of effortless sweater you'll want to live in all fall and winter.

The skirt is striking in its simplicity. It's sleek, smooth, and cozy with an elastic waistband and has a high-waisted fit and drapes beautifully. I love the idea of styling this with dark-brown or burgundy boots and accessories.

For reference I am wearing a size XS.

The Boyfriend V-Neck Sweater

Possibly one of my favorite pieces from the collection, the Boyfriend V-Neck is one of those perfectly slouchy-meets-sexy sweaters that you can easily dress up or down. Its plunging neckline is super flattering, easy to layer over a T-shirt or turtleneck or just wear as is with statement necklaces. It's lightweight and incredibly soft, made from 100% cashmere. I've been wearing it on repeat with jeans and tailored trousers, but I can't wait to style it with silk pants or a sequin skirt once party season arrives. This is one of those versatile pieces you won't regret.

For reference I am wearing a size XS.

The Palazzo Trouser

Finding a great pair of tailored trousers is not always an easy feat, but I was super impressed by G. Label's Palazzo Trousers. These fit exceptionally well on the waist and hips and have a chic wide-leg drape. The navy hue is incredibly versatile—chic for both day and night and prime for both work and weekend. I will say these trousers are quite long, so I do recommend getting them hemmed to your height. (They also come in petite sizes.) As far as tailored trousers go, they're one of the most elegant and luxurious-feeling pants I've tried.

For reference I am 5'6" and wearing a size 2.

Modern Pea Coat

If you want a smart, sophisticated, and timeless coat that will last you a lifetime, then the Modern Pea is your answer. It's beautifully tailored from a heavyweight wool-cashmere blend and has all the classic details: double-breasted, strong shoulders, a straight body, and a perfect length for fall. It really doesn't matter what I'm wearing. Whenever I throw this on, it adds elegance to my outfit in an instant. I love a navy colored coat, and this one oozes Parisian-chic vibes. If you're between sizes, I'd recommend sizing down.

For reference, I'm 5'6" and wearing a size 2.
