Kate Middleton Basically Copied Princess Diana's Outfit From 30 Years Ago
Today marks the beginning of the annual five-day horse race in Berkshire, England, known as the Royal Ascot. And yes, you guessed it—royals aplenty were in attendance, including everyone from Queen Elizabeth to Lady Kitty Spencer. To no one's surprise, guests, both royal and not, showed up dressed to the nines sporting some of the poshest frocks, suits, and dainty hats to match. While plenty of outfits from the Royal Ascot stunned us, it was Kate Middleton's soft blue look that had us doing a double take for more reasons than one.
Kate Middleton showed up to the 2019 Royal Ascot wearing an Elie Saab dress and Philip Treacy hat that closely resembled an ensemble Princess Diana wore 30 years ago while on a trip to Australia. Both looks were blue, had high necklines, were midi in length, and were topped off with a very regal matching blue hat. There are many mysteries surrounding the "rules" and intricacies of royal dressing that we common folk will never really know the answers to, but when it comes to this particular twinning moment between the two royals, we couldn't help but think it was extremely intentional.
