If you read my stories regularly, you'll know my sister—who does not work in the fashion world but always wants to stay ahead of the latest trends, styles, and It items to invest in—often asks me for advice on what to buy from season to season. Of course, I happily oblige. What are sisters for, after all? This week, I was bombarded with texts that went a little something like this: "What jeans am I supposed to be buying this year? Should I keep or donate my baggy jeans? Are skinny jeans back?!" Okay, slow your roll, sis. Of course, my level-headed answer is always to wear whatever you feel comfortable in, but the shopping director in me was compelled to put together this robust article for her so she can get a feel of all the styles and silhouettes that are very 2025.

Yes, slimmer silhouettes are back, but they're not the cringe-inducing skinny jeans of yesteryear. Think more stovepipe silhouettes with a slightly wider leg opening. For something ultra-wearable, classic straight-leg jeans are here to stay. There are a couple of fresh trends in the mix too, including bootcut jeans as well as long and loose jorts—something to look forward to when the temps start to rise.

If you're curious about the jeans that will be on-trend in 2025, then keep scrolling below to see if any of these tickle your fancy.

Top 7 Jeans Styles for 2025

Straight-Leg Jeans

Perhaps one of the most timeless and versatile styles—easy to style with flats and heels alike—straight-leg jeans will continue their dominance in 2025. Brands such as Coach and Bally backed the minimalistic trend on the runway. If you're in need of a straight-leg jeans update, try one of these pairs below.

Bootcut Jeans

Yep, they're back. The Gen Z fashion set has been unearthing the joys of noughties denim, specifically the bootcut jeans that have recently been spotted on celebs such as Bella Hadid. They also made an appearance on the recent spring/summer 2025 runways from designers such as Celine and Filippa K. If you wore them back in the 2000s and can't quite bring yourself to go full Marissa Cooper, then consider a fit with a more subtle flare that skims (not clings!) at the thigh and tapers at the hem. High-rise or low-rise? I'm leaving that one up to you.

Shop:

Wide-Leg Jeans

Baggy jeans are here to stay for 2025. Designers such as Tommy Hilfiger and Stella McCartney showcased loose and relaxed wide-leg silhouettes in all washes and rises—many imitating the form of tailored trousers. Wear them extra long to create the runway-approved puddle effect.

Shop:

Stovepipe Jeans

Notice, I said stovepipe, not skinny. There is a subtle difference. Stovepipe jeans are straight and narrow from the waist to the ankle, but they have a slightly wider leg opening than skinny jeans. Think of them as the more fitted sibling of straight-leg jeans. Either way, controversial slimmer silhouettes are back on the fashion map for 2025, and the fashion set is showing us that they can look as chic as can be. It's all in the styling—think on-trend jackets, timeless loafers, and elevated knits.

Shop:

White Jeans

Whether you go for a high-waisted straight-leg style or a low and loose silhouette, white and ivory-hued jeans continue to be the fashion crowd's go-to for an elevated and rich-looking ensemble. Style with rich brown suede through the winter season and white tank tops come summer.

Shop:

Jorts

It might not be warm enough quite yet, but come spring, expect to see jorts make a steadfast appearance on your feed. Denim Bermuda shorts had a rise in popularity last summer, and this year, we're about to see the style dominate thanks to designers such as Filippa K, OpéraSport, and Zimmermann. Opt for a loose and relaxed silhouette that hits just below the knee for a very 2025 take on the trend.

Shop:

Light-Wash Jeans

Okay, there were also a whole host of deep, dark washes on the spring/summer 2025 runways, but the pale-blue washes really grabbed my attention because of how pervasive they were in the collections, especially in the form of wide-leg, baggy, and bootcut silhouettes. They ooze a free-spirited '70s vibe, and I'm already spotting bleach washes on my favorite fashion people.
