The One Dress That's Getting Me Through This Heat Wave

You know it's hot outside when the weather makes the national news. Over the weekend, I got a text from my cousin, who said he'd heard about L.A.'s heat wave and that it was hotter in SoCal than where he lived in Atlanta. With the heat wave hitting both coasts (and even the U.K. last week), my mind went to one thing—okay, two things: How can I do the least amount of activity, and what should I wear?

The answer was a new dress sitting in my closet. Dôen's pretty Sol Dress ($305) got me through the sweltering weekend, and I have a feeling I'll be wearing it for the rest of summer. The maxi isn't your typical skimpy dress to beat the heat, but the breezy, non-clingy cotton fabric made it my ideal dress. Scroll down to see how I wore it and shop similar dresses for yourself.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
