9 Grandpa Cardigans You'll Never Take Off
In my late 20s, I had a major sartorial epiphany. I realized that I had an undying love for cozy grandpa cardigans. The discovery came after I’d found an oversize cable knit—which once belonged to my late grandmother—on a return visit home one weekend. I was immediately drawn to its cozy oversize fit, even if it did smell a bit musty. Once I’d wrapped the thick vintage wool around my body, I did not want to take it off. I still wear it with everything—over minidresses and heels, shrugged over the shoulders with jeans and tees, and wrapped up over pj's. It is seriously the most versatile fashion item I own.
Lucky for you, there are must-free cardigans out there that are just as cozy. Thanks to a plethora of designers and fast-fashion brands, you too can get in on the trend. If you want to go the chic route, wear yours cinched at the waist with a cool belt. You can also wear one with a short skirt and ankle boots (the cardigan should fall longer than the skirt) for a day-to-night look that we’re aptly calling grandpa-chic. Scroll below for nine of our favorite cardigans on the market right now.
