I Have Simple Style and Live in Flats—These Are the Only Styles I Care About
A pair of trusty flats is a foundational aspect of many wardrobes because of the comfort and versatility factor. Many silhouettes also check the trend-forward box as well (cue ballet flats right now). One style setter we follow that essentially lives in flats with her more pared-down and simple approach to style is L.A.-based influencer Jen Andrews-Cater.
"Being a minimalist and a busy working mom means comfort is key. I never sacrifice my comfort for chic style, however. Long gone are the days of super high heels though—flats are a key piece in my wardrobe," she said. On that note, Andrews-Cater is showcasing the specific flat silhouettes she cares about most right now to complete her chicest looks.

Ballet Flats
"I wear my two-toned Chanel ballet flats constantly. They are my go-to outfit 'finisher.' Recently, I got these incredibly soft silver metallic ballerinas from Essen the Label! As we move into spring, we will be seeing a lot of metallics and I will definitely be wearing these on repeat."—Jen Andrews-Cater
Mary Janes
"Mary Janes are a newer addition to my flats collection. I love that they add a feminine touch to almost any outfit. I love styling them with maxi skirts (another huge trend we will be seeing a lot of moving into spring)! I recently added classic black patent leather ones from Jonak Paris to my closet and love how they look on their own or paired with socks."—Andrews-Cater
Pointed Sling-Backs
"These are the most feminine to me out of all of my flats. I love that I can wear them with a knit dress or skirt and still feel elevated and pulled together! These are the next ones on my radar to add to my wardrobe mix for spring and summer." — Andrews-Cater
Loafers
"I have amassed a great collection of loafers through the years and wear them year-round. My Prada loafers are one of the best investment staples I ever made. Lately, I’ve been gravitating toward my new chocolate brown suede Dear Frances loafers. I’m really into chocolate brown and love wearing them with denim and an all-brown monochromatic look."—Andrews-Cater
