I'm Calling It: These Will Be the Best Dressed Celebrities of 2024
We all have our style icons, and like everything in fashion, who you look up to sartorially is entirely personal. Some still cite the Olsen twins as outfit role models, while Julia Fox's unapologetically daring looks have a fanbase of their own.
In this sense, labelling a celebrity as "best-dressed” is arguably redundant. But a select few repeatedly make fashion news—and for good reason. When an A-lister outfit catches our eye, it's usually something beautifully classic or so inventive that it demands a shout-out. Or in some cases, an entire story written about it.
We especially love it when the look in question is achievable and/or relatable. Think Kendall Jenner stepping out in Adidas sambas, or Gigi Hadid and Alexa Chung wearing that Mango coat. Admittedly, in many cases, the exact pieces are beyond the average person's budget, but most of the celebrity ensembles we highlight can be easily recreated with more frugal buys.
This brings us to our run-down of the eight celebrities we expect to inspire our 2024 wardrobes. In no particular order, presenting the A-listers whose enviable outfits you'll soon be seeing everywhere.
1. Laura Harrier
Style Notes: In the past few months, Laura Harrier has risen through the fashion ranks, fast becoming one of the film industry's chicest stars. Case in point: this on-trend sheer shirt and thigh-high boot combination.
Key buy:
2. Margot Robbie
Style Notes: Since Margot Robbie started working with stylist Andrew Mukamal in the run-up to the Barbie release, each of her outfits has been more iconic than the last. Showcasing archival Versace and Chanel designs on the red carpet, her off-duty look is just as swoon-worthy.
Key buy:
3. Kate Moss
Style Notes: That's right, this supermodel is still one of Britain's best dressers. Sheer fabrics are set to be even bigger in 2024 than they were this year, and Kate Moss knows it. The choice to pair chunky metallic platforms with this "feminine” dress is the perfect example of her signature edgy styling.
Key buy:
4. Dakota Johnson
Style Notes: Dakota Johnson always has her finger on the fashion pulse, blending retro silhouettes with understated trend pieces. Here, she provides a masterclass in wearing all black, using a mix of textures to keep the look interesting despite its monochrome palette.
Key buy:
5. Zendaya
Style Notes: Zendaya's dazzling Met Gala looks never fail to leave us starry-eyed, but even for less extravagant events, her refined sense of style consistently shines through.
Key buy:
6. Jennifer Lawrence
Style Notes: This might sound like a sweeping statement, but I'm convinced that J-Law's current fashion era is her best yet. Lately, shots of her running various errands and hanging out with family in New York have proven one thing: This oscar-winning actor has a knack for building effortlessly cool outfits.
Key buy:
7. Sofia Richie
Style Notes: If you're a fan of the "old money” aesthetic, you likely already follow Sofia Richie on all of her socials. Quiet luxury meets a clean palette of white, pale blue and tan in this models's Insta-famous wardrobe.
Key buy:
8. Victoria Beckham
Style Notes: Victoria Beckham is the queen of making simple items look so premium. This navy-on-navy combo is no exception, particularly with the addition of black accessories—a subtle statement against the age-old "rule” that black and navy shouldn't be worn together.
Key buy:
9. Zoë Kravitz
Style Notes: This dress speaks for itself, but it's also just one of many Zoë Kravitz looks we've coveted in 2023. Simplicity is her moda operandi; you'll often spot her rocking a relaxed tank-top-and-jeans ensemble. We can't wait to see where she takes her style in 2024.
Key buy:
10. Sienna Miller
Style Notes: Sienna Miller always deserves a spot on this list. The actor-slash-model encapsulates London style at its best, balancing androgyny with elegance while maintaining a bohemian attitude. It sounds impossible, but Sienna makes it work.
Key buy:
11. Meghan Markle
Style Notes: It doesn't get classier than Meghan Markle's aesthetic. Expect polished pairings in creamy hues throughout the coming year, finished with timeless court shoes and minimal designer handbags.
