Jennifer Sattler worked as a stylist at Nordstrom for two decades and is currently styling on her own and producing content for her blog, Closet Choreography. One of the key fashion categories she's helped her clients with over the years is finding that perfect pair of jeans. "I spent more than 20 years in the dressing room with clients at Nordstrom, and now I swear it's easier to buy jeans that fit online more than anywhere else. It's a numbers game and my blog's jean quiz will show you which ones you need to know and how to take them," she told us.

While she goes into her favorite denim silhouettes of the moment here, we're highlighting the standout styles Sattler thinks are best right now given their versatile and fashion-forward nature.

"Of the styles I suggest the most, straight-leg jeans are the most popular because an ankle-length style goes with almost any shoe."—Jennifer Sattler

Classic Boot-Cut Jeans

"Boot-cut jeans look the best with any heel and boots, of course! If you want to elongate your legs, hem your jeans longer than your full-length inseam."—Sattler

Flares

"Wide-leg flares have a fashion-forward feel. Big block heels, platforms, and wedges help balance the exaggerated leg shape."—Sattler

Skinny Jeans

"Skinny jeans will always serve a purpose. Update yours by choosing a lower-rise style and wear them as you would leggings. Back to long tunics and sweaters."—Sattler
