What the Most Stylish Girls in Paris, Tokyo, and NYC Are Wearing for Date Night
What’s your go-to date night outfit? Mine consists of a pair of flattering slim jeans, a lace camisole, a buttery leather jacket and chic (but walkable!) heeled boots—an outfit that’s easy to wear living in L.A. and makes me feel the best version of myself. Add a few coats of my favorite mascara et voilà, I’m officially ready to flirt! A night out with that special someone is the perfect opportunity to swipe on some lippy and make a little effort in the wardrobe department. Whether it’s a first date or a night out with your hubby, we here at Who What Wear love to share our chic and inviting date night outfit ideas for every season.
With Valentine’s just around the corner, it got me thinking—what do stylish women in the big cities around the world wear on date night? Sure, in the age of Instagram there’s definitely a sartorial crossover, but there are certain cultural nuances that we have picked up on. Scroll below to get inspired by what stylish women in three fashionable cities are wearing on date night.
Paris
Parisian women do not abide to the more-is-more night-out dress code. Their approach is a much more nonchalant-meets-chic aesthetic (you know, the French je ne sais quoi way of dressing we're always talking about here on Who What Wear.) Their date-night outfits are an elevated version of their daytime outfits. Perhaps they'll add a lace camisole top or silky blouse to their high-waisted jeans or a dress with boots and opaque tights for a polished yet effortless look. Don't forget your red lipstick.
New York
New Yorkers provide a smorgasbord of original outfit ideas for date night. Meeting someone straight after work is often the norm in New York, so a date outfit is more often than not an extension of a work outfit. Bold accessories are a great way to jazz up a look or focus on a statement piece like a print skirt to add interest and charm.
Tokyo
The fashion set in Tokyo love to have fun with their evening outfits—adding playful accessories, prints, and interesting details. They choose dresses over jeans and chunky soles over delicate heels.
