The Microtrend Zara, Mango and Topshop All Have in Common

There are lots of things the high street are specialising in right now: Topshop's shoes are noticeably stronger than ever before, and Zara's take on how to wear floral prints has certainly piqued our interest. But if there's one really unique must-buy item we've spotted as a standout piece across the board it's the crochet top.

Not just any ordinary crochet top, mind you. Not the flimsy, throw-away kind you maybe bought in Ibiza circa 2004. We're talking about bright stripes, rainbow colours and there's even the concept (thanks Zara) of layering one over a shirt in order to receive extra bang for your buck. This is one of those super-niche microtrends that we didn't predict as a big hitter across the affordable price-point realm and yet, each of our favourite high-street stores has wholeheartedly adopted the idea.

From festival fashion to beachside frolicks to Dress Down Fridays, this could well be your new best fashion friend. Scroll down to shop our favourite crochet tops…
