As fashion editors, we routinely test out a variety of items to ultimately recommend to you, dear readers. Today, we wanted to focus on some of our favorite shoe silhouettes. Specifically, those top-notch boot styles. After all, we're about to get deeper into the winter months here, so some fresh inspo couldn't hurt, right?

To highlight the boot silhouettes in question, I asked some of the team members to send over the one pair of boots they're currently obsessed with over others. Essentially, it's these said styles that get an A+ ranking when it comes to comfort and overall vibe. And yep, the boots really do run the gamut—everything from more practical flat silhouettes to those trendier picks as well.

Without further ado, keep scrolling to check out the boot styles that are front-runners in our eyes, complete with a range of visual and shopping inspo.

"Dr. Martens will forever be my favorite boots, specifically the Jadon platforms. I love the height they give me sans the discomfort, and when it comes to styling, I find these always make any outfit ten times cooler without the effort. Not to mention they are essentially weather-proof. They have lasted through many rough New York winters and still look practically brand new."—Lauren Eggertsen, senior fashion editor

"I've loved cowboy boots ever since I visited Tennessee when I was young, and I especially love the more elevated versions that have been out recently. They pair so well with jeans and under midi dresses!"—Yusra Siddiqui, assistant market editor

"Snakeskin boots will forever be one of my wardrobe staples. One winter I practically wore the same J.Crew pair every single day, which pretty much sums up my intense love affair with the print. These are really attention-grabbing yet are surprisingly easy to style. I like that they have a platform so my feet won't slip and slide down (which is one of my pet peeves)."—Indya Brown, market editor

"I'm into these cute white boots because they're reasonably priced and look more expensive than they are. I'm all about flat boots because I can't be bothered with anything fussy right now. (Note: these have a side zipper so you don't have to mess with the laces.) Plus, I love that these boots come in four other colorways, which is convenient if you want to stock up on a style you know you like."—Erin Fitzpatrick, senior news editor

"When I'm feeling fancier, I love to slip into a pair of white ankle boots. My go-to pair at the moment are these white croc Dolce Vita boots. They rival my other boots in comfort, not to mention the fact they're a staple that can be paired with just about anything."—Jasmine Fox-Suliaman, editor

"Square-toe boots are the silhouette I've been loving for a few seasons now. Their sculptural shape is the perfect pairing for the relaxed trousers and jeans I've been living in recently."—Kristen Nichols, senior editor

"I got these in tan last year and loved them so much that I bought them in black this year. Obviously, lug-sole Chelsea boots are a trend but they're not so chunky that they'll look dated in a couple of seasons. Plus, they're super comfortable and are suitable for inclement winter weather."—Allyson Payer, senior fashion editor
