It takes a lot for us to break our attention (and undying love) away from our favorite black ankle boots, but another pair that popped up this season did just that. Enter the blue ankle boot. We've been regularly spotting the cool-toned footwear on some of our favorite blogger and street style muses, and can't them out of our heads. Luckily, our go-to stores have also gotten the memo, carrying a variety of styles in everything from baby blue hues to dark, midnight options. Safe to say, it's time to give our trusty black pairs a break to try something fresh.

The good news is that it's not that much different when it comes to styling a blue ankle boot, so you already have all the pieces you need in your closet. Rather than reaching for your usual black pair, try a deep navy bootie with your favorite jeans and chunky turtleneck sweater mix. For the office, swap in an elevated mid-blue option to go with your button-down shirt and trousers instead. For a more dramatic statement, opt for a pair with a luxe snakeskin print which comes in an array of colors from super-bright options to darker, rich picks. These standout booties will go with just about any look, too. One tip to keep in mind no matter the outfit: black and blue pair really nicely together.

Keep reading to check out our editors' top blue ankle boots picks of the season. Our edit covers an assortment of color choices, at every price point.
