18 Jaw-Dropping Golden Globes Beauty Looks We Totally Want to Steal
We know the true purpose of award season is to celebrate the best in film and TV, but as beauty editors, we can't help but think it serves another purpose—that is, providing enough hair and makeup inspiration to last us an entire year. While we've already witnessed some stunning looks from the Emmys and the American Music Awards, we consider the Golden Globes to be the real kickoff to award season. After all, it's the first show of the New Year and, in a sense, the one that dictates the hair and makeup trends for all others that follow.
This year's Golden Globes are a sight to behold since some of the buzziest movies and TV shows are nominated—think The White Lotus, The Crown, Wednesday, Babylon, Elvis, and Top Gun: Maverick… I could go on. That means the equally buzzy (and stylish) celebs that star in them are walking the red carpet. So without further ado, keep scrolling to see the 18 most jaw-dropping beauty looks from the 2023 Golden Globes.
Jenna Ortega debuted a new auburn hair color, a cool shag haircut, and (if you look closely) double-winged liner. It's like she used the Golden Globes red carpet to give us a master class in trendy Gen Z beauty, and we're taking notes.
Must-have beauty products: Fekkai Root Lift Spray ($28) and Super Strength+ Protein Power Bond Mist ($28)
We couldn't stop staring at Daisy Edgar-Jones's hair, which was pulled up into a bun at the nape of her neck with lots of volume at the crown and soft, feathery bangs at the front. It's basically the 2023 version of a classic '60s bouffant.
Must-have beauty products: Sisley Paris Hair Rituel Volumizing Spray ($100); Chanel N°1 de Chanel Revitalizing Foundation ($75) and N°1 de Chanel Lip and Cheek Balm in Healthy Pink ($45)
Anya Taylor-Joy sported the same waist-grazing platinum-blonde hair that she debuted on the Golden Globes red carpet last year. Only this time, it was styled slick-straight and pinned back on one side. It's perfection.
Monica Barbaro of Top Gun: Maverick chose a simple and classic look for the Golden Globes red carpet. She paired an elegant half-up hairstyle with crimson lipstick.
Kaley Cuoco debuted her baby bump on the red carpet along with feathery, French-girl bangs and radiant pink blush. The combination is a winning one.
Must-have beauty products: Clairol Shimmer Lights Leave-in Styling Treatment ($13) and Shimmer Lights Thermal Shine Spray ($11); Révive Masque de Volûme Sculpting and Firming Mask ($185)
Yet another '60s reference (are we sensing a theme here?), Elizabeth Debicki's heavy black eyeliner, middle part, and effortless hair texture were the perfect combination.
Must-have beauty products: Phyto Defrisant Anti-Frizz Blow-Dry Balm ($30) and Volumizing Blow-Dry Spray ($30)
Quinta Brunson's slicked-back ponytail and pink gradient smoky eye are so on point.
Must-have beauty products: Olay Regenerist Retinol24 Night Moisturizer ($40); Beautyblender Bounce Always On Radiant Skin Tint ($29) and Bounce Airbrush Liquid Whip Concealer ($13); Hairstory Dressed Up Hair Protectant Lotion ($36); Kiss Masterpiece Luxe Fake Nails in Royal Gardens ($11)
Jenny Slate's perfect curl pattern is complemented by a rosy lip color.
If the Golden Globes are any indication, 2023 is the year of low-key hairstyles paired with glowing makeup. Michelle Williams's matching pink cheek and lip color is a prime example.
Must-have beauty products: Chanel Ultra Le Teint Foundation ($65) and Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in Rosée ($45)
There are two things we love about Selena Gomez's look. The first is her high pony, which was styled in soft, bending waves. The second was her eye makeup, which was ever-so-slightly smoky.
Must-have beauty products: Rare Beauty Discovery Eyeshadow Palette ($29); Olivia Garden Titanium + Ion Curling Iron ($100); René Furterer Style Holding Gel ($30)
Margot Robbie paired her Barbie-esque pink gown with a darker lip color and matching blush. According to her makeup artist, Pati Dubroff, the inspiration behind the look was her Chanel dress. "I wanted her to have the feeling of having the pink tones in her dress reflecting in her look. We did something soft and diffused. It was like leaning into the pinkness of her dress but giving it a flush. We focused on the flush of the cheek and the flush of the lip, without any hard lines. The whole thing feels like a harmony in tone, while nothing is overpowering."
Must-have beauty products: Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in Intuitive ($45) and Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in Éternelle ($45); Image Skincare VITAL C Hydrating Facial Mist ($40) and Vital C Deluxe Hydrating Anti-Aging Serum ($115); KMS AddPower Thickening Spray ($25); Varis Marcel Curler ($185)
Here's another simple yet elegant look. Ana de Armas paired thick, winged liner with a terra-cotta red lip. It's a look that will never go out of style.
Must-have beauty products: Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Milky Leave-In Conditioner ($28) and Brazilian Glossy Nourishing Anti-Frizz Hair Oil ($34); Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation ($48)
There's only one word for Letitia Wright's red carpet look, and that's glowing.
Must-have beauty product: CurrentBody Skin LED Eye Perfector ($249)
Lily James opted for classic Old Hollywood glamour with subtle makeup and a side-parted lob.
Must-have beauty products: Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($46) and Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette ($75)
Speaking of Old Hollywood glamour, leave it to Jennifer Coolidge to arrive with voluminous, tousled barrel curls. We think her character in The White Lotus would approve.
Must-have beauty products: Better Not Younger Lift Me Up Hair Thickener ($35) and License to Curl, Curl Revival Boost Spray ($35); R.E.M. Beauty Dream Lashes ($16); Victoria Beckham Lid Lustre in Honey ($36)
Jessica Chastain looked like an actual Golden Globe award. She looked bronze and sculpted thanks to what looked like expertly blended blush and bronzer.
Must-have beauty products: Charlotte Tilbury Glow Glide Face Architect Highlighter ($48) and Beautiful Skin Foundation ($46); Sisley Paris Hair Rituel The Cream 230 Restorative Hair Cream ($105)
When she's not playing Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon, Milly Alcock is giving us some serious Gen Z–approved beauty inspiration. We love the way she paired metallic eye shadow with slick-shine hair.
Must-have beauty products: Charlotte Tilbury Glow Glide Face Architect Highlighter in Gilded Glow ($48) and Colour Chameleon Eye Shadow Pencil in Smokey Emerald and Champagne Diamonds ($29)
Li Jun Li, who stars in Babylon, walked the Golden Globes red carpet with a dewy complexion and full, fluttery lashes.
