15 Bath Oils That Will Make Your Skin Feel Just Plain Rich
I'm convinced that there's an art to bathing. Sure, you can run the water, step in the tub, spend a few minutes soaking, and leave it at that, but that's like going to a five-star restaurant and ordering a cup of soup. It's just scratching the surface. In order to truly elevate the experience and transform it from a standard soak to something more spa-like, you need the right lineup of products. (Trust me—we bath people know.)
Out of the seemingly innumerable bath products on the market (which include but are not limited to scrubs, soaks, and salts), my personal favorite is bath oil. Sure, bath oils aren't as visually stimulating as bath bombs, nor are they as nostalgia-inducing as bubbles, but they never fail to make your skin feel soft, smooth, and moisturized, and that's what it's all about. Keep scrolling to see 15 luxurious bath oils that will make your skin feel just plain rich.
1. Fur Bath Drops
These bath drops contain the brand's signature Fur Oil ($46). They dissolve when they hit the water, imbuing your bath with softening oils. They contain good-for-skin ingredients like calming clary sage oil, moisturizing jojoba oil, and vitamin-rich grape-seed oil.
2. Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil
Add a capful of this oil to your bath water for a deeply relaxing experience. (It isn't called Deep Relax for nothing.) It combines vetivert, chamomile, and sandalwood to promote a night of restful sleep and provide an instant calming effect.
3. Ren Clean Skincare Atlantic Kelp and Microalgae Anti-Fatigue Bath Oil
This product is unique in that it combines moisturizing oils like rosemary leaf oil, geranium oil, and sunflower seed oil with Atlantic kelp and microalgae. It's like they bottled up a refreshing ocean swim and infused it into a bath oil.
4. Espa Positivity Bath & Body Oil
This bath oil is meant to nourish both your skin and your mind with moisturizing and fragrant ingredients like jasmine, gardenia, and rose geranium essential oils. Bergamot and sweet orange are also included for an extra uplifting effect. If you count on the powers of aromatherapy to relax and unwind, this spa-quality bath oil is for you.
5. Kai Bathing Bubbles
While this is technically more of a bubble bath than a bath oil, it's worth talking about because it's formulated with argan oil to smooth and moisturize the skin. Plus, anyone who appreciates the sensory experience of a bubble bath will surely keep coming back to this one. Its sweet gardenia fragrance doesn't hurt either.
6. Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Bath Oil
If you're a fan of Jo Malone's fragrances, you'll surely love the brand's sweet-smelling bath oils, too. I'm partial to English Pear & Freesia. It's somehow fresh, fruity, and floral all at once and never fails to make my bathroom feel like a bucolic spa in the English countryside.
7. Dr Teal's Eucalyptus & Spearmint Moisturizing Bath & Body Oil
Budget-friendly bath oils are out there, and if you know which ones to choose, they will make your bath feel just as luxurious as products that cost triple the price. Take this Dr Teal's pick, for instance. It contains a blend of eucalyptus and spearmint essential oils, as well as jojoba, sweet almond, and grape-seed oil. The best part? It's only $5.
8. Naturopathica Lavender Blossom Bath & Body Oil
If lavender is your thing, this bath oil will delight you. It uses lavender flower oil, as well as lavandin flower oil (which is a hybrid form of lavender) to create a relaxing and aromatic oil that you can add to bath water or massage directly onto your skin. However you choose to use it, the brand promises it will relax your mind and your muscles, all thanks to rosemary leaf oil, which contains a compound that stimulates blood flow in order to warm muscle tissue.
9. Lab to Beauty The Fountain of Youth Body and Bath Oil
Sure, this bath oil is expensive, but the price is reflected in its ingredients and its purpose. It promises to refine skin texture and tone while increasing elasticity with magnolia and Bulgarian rose absolute oil. It also contains CBG (a compound derived from cannabis), moringa, and immortelle, which all help boost the skin's moisture retention.
10. Olverum Bath Oil
This product is made up of a unique combination of oils—including Siberian fir, rosemary, English lavender, key lime, juniper, and rose geranium. As such, it smells woody and earthy, which I find perfectly grounding after a long, stressful day.
11. Province Apothecary Radiant Bath & Body Oil
The star ingredients in this bath and body oil are organic argan kernel oil, black cumin seed oil, and avocado oil. Let's start from the top. Organic argan kernel oil is rich in vitamin E, omega-6 fatty acids, and antioxidants. Black cumin seed oil soothes and moisturizes with a blend of vitamins and minerals. Avocado oil, while also rich in a variety of vitamins and minerals, fights dryness and dehydration with omega-3 fatty acids.
12. SheaMoisture Coconut and Hibiscus Bath & Body Oil
While SheaMoisture is probably best known for its haircare products, this bath oil shouldn't be ignored. It contains coconut oil, which is rich in vitamins E and K, iron, and fatty acids, as well as hibiscus flower and Songyi mushroom to soften and rejuvenate the skin.
13. Susanne Kaufmann Oil Bath for the Senses
Not only is the packaging impossibly simple and chic, but the formula of this bath oil can't be beaten. It contains an essential oil blend of ylang-ylang, patchouli, lavender, and rosemary. The latter offers a relaxing warming effect as it boosts blood circulation.
14. Seven Seven Cosmetics Bath Oil
Another simple yet chic bath oil, this one contains safflower, sunflower, grape-seed, apricot kernel, and eucalyptus oil for supremely soft and smooth skin. The brand also makes Bath Salt ($35), Bath Soak ($35), and Bath Froth ($35), so it's kind of a one-stop shop for bathing essentials.
15. Ahava Bath & Shower Oil
This bath oil is perfect for anyone who has red, sensitive skin (but really, the brand says it's gentle enough for newborns). It's rich in antioxidants and nourishing and balancing oils like castor oil, sweet almond oil, and grape-seed oil.
