We Try Before You Buy: 17 High-Street Pieces We Love
Our We Try Before You Buy series aims to take the stress out of shopping and eliminate the number of post office visits you make each month to return failed online orders. We test new-season buys and styling ideas so you don't have to. Here, we're letting you know what is actually worth investing in.
This is the moment when the high street has its big drop of the season, with thousands of new jackets, boots and coats arriving daily. This volume can be overwhelming and impossible to keep on top of. This meant that our choice of topic for the latest We Try Before You Buy was a no-brainer, so we called into the office as many high-street pieces as our team could physically try on in a day to narrow it down to the ones we loved the most.
Knitwear has really elevated this autumn beyond cashmere crewnecks and chunky roll-necks. Below you'll find a rich mocha-coloured cable knit skirt–and-jumper set from Marks and Spencer, a grey ribbed Zara cardigan-and-culotte co-ord and a green knitted jumper dress from Uniqlo. Other autumn essentials our editors tested include a pair of Whistles chunky boots, the perfect knee-highs from Mango, a leopard-print coat from Warehouse and a wear-to-everything floral dress from Topshop.
