This Is the Cost-Free Styling Trick Everyone Is Doing Right Now
Full disclosure: This trend isn't exactly new. It is, however, one we've spotted on numerous street style stars during Paris Fashion Week. It's an item in particular that hasn't had much love of late, but we can definitely see it's making a comeback. The best part is that it costs nothing. So what is this miracle trend in question? It is, of course, the belt, and, more importantly, cinching it around your waist.
From Caroline Issa's skinny belt wrapped around her blazer to Anna Dello Russo knotting hers around her denim jacket, there were also masculine belts layered over pretty tiered dresses. It's clear to see why everyone loves this trend too, as it instantly gives the wearer a more feminine silhouette.
Perhaps it's thanks to Kim Kardashian West wearing a lot of corsets, and this is just the more wearable day-to-day version. Whatever it is, belts are back. Now, we're sure we all have one knocking about in the back of the wardrobe, so all you need to do is resurrect said item and fasten it around the waist.
However, if you don't have one that you like, we've been kind enough to find a few of our favourites right now so you can jump on the trend before everyone else does. Click through our gallery to see the trend at Paris Fashion Week and where to shop our favourite belts right now.
Style Notes: Belts don't have to go around a jacket or shirt. Try it on an oversize sweater.
Style Notes: The winning detail here is in the contrast between the masculine belt and the pretty feminine dress.
Style Notes: Caroline Issa ties a skinny belt over a floral blazer.
Style Notes: Try a patterned belt over a denim shirt or jacket.
Style Notes: You can try this look with bombers too.
This super-pretty velvet belt will be great for the upcoming party season.
