It's always nice to meet a fellow wellness enthusiast, but it's even better when that wellness enthusiast is also your aesthetician. Katie Sobelman, my go-to facialist for seriously glowy skin (really, I came out almost sparkling the last time I visited her), doesn't gatekeep and I appreciate that about her. Sobelman is an organic aesthetician with many cutting-edge treatments, and she has given me so many fantastic wellness and beauty recommendations at this point that I basically forced her to share them with the rest of the world because they're so good.

Not only did she share a few key beauty and wellness items that she uses and loves, but she also shared a few tips that go far beyond just products for living your best and healthiest life. For all she had to share, keep on scrolling.

Sobelman's Best Wellness Tips

Sobelman believes that skin health starts with whole-body health. You can use the best skincare in the world, but your skin will be at its most vibrant if you're taking care of the rest too! That's why she offers next-level services like a session with her in-studio BioCharger. What's a BioCharger, you ask?

Sobelman explains, "The BioCharger is a hands-free wellness device that blends four subtle energies to create a powerful cellular treatment. Blending pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF), voltage, light spectrum, and frequency, this machine offers over 1200 unique treatments to address a myriad of concerns, from skin- and health-related conditions to improving physical performance. The BioCharger is the crown jewel of my skincare practice. In my facials, I offer an alternative to injectables by supporting vibrant aging through alternative modalities. Treating the skin is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to aging. I like to offer a more comprehensive treatment that addresses the source of the issue by promoting cellular health. The BioCharger allows clients to increase cellular voltage, activity, and permeability to support and improve the body’s natural biological functions. If you imagine the body and our cells as batteries, our lifestyle and environment can deplete our charge. The BioCharger works to recharge the body so it can function optimally. Pairing cellular therapy with massage and modality in my facials allows for a more comprehensive treatment."

If you're in L.A. or Napa, you'll definitely want to book a session with Sobelman (via her website) and try it out for yourself. I got to experience it and felt so rejuvenated afterward.

In addition to treatments like this, Sobelman has a few more tips. "Obviously, cellular treatments like PEMF are a top priority for improving total-body health and reducing inflammation, but simpler treatments, like daily dry brushing and walking, can also pack a big punch when it comes to improving the health of the body and the skin. Dry brushing helps to boost circulation and stimulate the lymphatic system, which is notoriously sluggish, improving systemic health. Daily walking is another easy-to-incorporate lifestyle improvement with numerous benefits, like lowering cortisol, a stress hormone associated with cellular aging, increasing blood flow, promoting cardiovascular health, and releasing endorphins to boost your mood naturally. I love walking and hiking! I logged nearly 80 miles last month just moving around my neighborhood. Lately, I’ve added wearing a weighted vest to my daily walking to help increase bone density and core strength. It’s a great way to intensify and add additional benefits to something you might already be doing."
