I Spent 2 Hours Shopping the Beauty Section of Nordstrom's Half-Yearly Sale—Here's What to Buy
Today is officially the last day you can shop Nordstrom's Half-Yearly Sale, and there are still plenty of amazing beauty deals to take advantage of. (Seriously, don't allow yourself to miss out!) Whether you're looking to re-stock current favorites, or pepper some A+ new formulas into your upcoming summer routine, it's one of the most strategic times to shop beauty.
Scrolling through pages and pages of sale items can feel exhausting, so I decided to do the dirty work for you to save you time and potentially wasted money. As someone who has tried most beauty products on the market, you can trust that my picks below will not disappoint. Keep scrolling to shop my last-minute Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale shopping list.
If you're like me and spend half of your life contemplating a new tattoo, do yourself a favor and chuck a few packs of these temporary tattoos into your cart. Inked by Dani makes the cutest, most realistic designs, and they're especially fun for the summer months. (This Y2K-inspired pack is one of my favorites.)
I love changing out my candles for the summer season, but I don't love most standard summer scents. (They're either too heavily floral or too beachy and sunscreen-y). This Boy Smells collab with Ganni is actually more fall-inspired, but I find the mix of ginger, fig, sage, clove, tonka bean, and sandalwood to be so rich and soothing. (And totally summer appropriate.)
I love pretty things. And, while this stunning, hand-carved wooden comb is more expensive than a plastic comb I could pick up at the drugstore... I need it on top of my vanity. (Plus, it's nearly $50 off!)
Nordstrom has been flirting Dyson deals at us throughout the entire Half-Yearly Sale. I don't know how long this particular magic will last, but the brand's beloved straightener is $100 off.
You can never have too many neutral eye shadow palettes, and this bronze-hued iteration is what summer dreams are made.
Yes, you can use retinol in the summer months, it's just extra-imperative to be vigilant about your sunscreen application. This dynamic duo from Kiehl's won't let you down.
I actually did a double take when I saw this dreamy gift set from Westman Atelier on sale. The brand's Super Loaded Tinted Highlight, Baby Cheeks Blush Sticks, and Lip Suede Lip Palettes are all cult-favorite formulas amongst editors, celebs, and makeup artists.
This is the perfect time of year to add a touch of shimmer to your body or complexion. Stila's liquid eyeshadow formula is the GOAT, and the subtle warm hues in this set will glint perfectly in the sunshine.
It's not every day you can snag this volumizing mascara from Lancôme half off. Run, don't walk!
I love using concealer in lieu of foundation when the temperatures (and my tendency to sweat) start to skyrocket. This formula from Armani is a favorite amongst makeup artists and editors, alike. Not to mention, pocketing any product from Armani for just $20 feels like stealing.
It's no wonder Laura Mercier's Caviar Sticks are iconic—they not only look beautiful, but they transform the tedious task of applying eye shadow into a 10-second piece-of-cake.
The combination of extra time in the sun, salty snacks, sugary drinks, and not enough sleep often leaves me feeling puffy all summer long. A morning gua sha routine can work wonders and has become my go-to hack for instant gratification in the de-puffing department.
Remember what I said about loving pretty things? I can't resist this floral sleep mask. Plus, better sleep is always a smart beauty investment, right?!
Dry shampoo is quite possibly the single most important product in my summer beauty routine. (Okay, okay, after sunscreen.) You can bet I'm grabbing at least two of these two-packs from Living Proof.
Powder makeup formulas can be tough in the warmer months. I love that this matte bronzer has a creamy blend, easily melting and buffing into the skin. The finish is so natural!
Erin has been writing a mix of beauty and wellness content for Who What Wear for over four years. Prior to that, she spent two and half years writing for Byrdie. She now calls Santa Monica home but grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and studied writing, rhetoric, and communication at University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. She studied abroad in Galway, Ireland, and spent a summer in L.A. interning with the Byrdie and Who What Wear family. After graduating from UW, she spent one year in San Francisco, where she worked as a writer for Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen before moving down to L.A. to begin her career as a beauty editor. She considers her day-to-day beauty aesthetic very low-maintenance and relies on staples like clear brow serum (from Kimiko!), Lawless's Lip Plumping Mask in Cherry Vanilla, and an eyelash curler. For special occasions or days when she's taking more meetings or has an event, she'll wear anything and everything from Charlotte Tilbury (the foundations are game-changing), some shimmer on her lids (Stila and Róen do it best), and a few coats of the best mascara-type product on earth, Surratt's Noir Lash Tint.
