I Tried Amazon's #1 Hair Mask—Now I'm Pretty Sure I Could Audition for Hair Commercials
I bleached my hair eight years ago, and I've been on a hair health journey ever since. There was something about the split ends, breakage, and spongy texture of my formerly blonde hair that traumatized me. Even though my hair is back to a healthier, semi-natural color, I'm still dead-set on getting rid of signs of damage...because, yes, I have many.
My favorite way to improve my hair health is through the use of hair masks. I'm not kidding when I say I have 10-15 of them at any given time. What can I say? I'm no-so-subtly obsessed with how they transform my dry, brittle hair into soft, expensive-looking hair.
So, you can imagine my delight when I recently discovered the #1 best-selling hair mask on Amazon. Yep, #1! Amazon customers love it so much that it's already sold out. Luckily, it's back in stock (at least temporarily), and I'm not willing to waste any time. I immediately added it to my cart and waited with bated breath for the package to be delivered to my doorstep. Once it arrived, I dropped what I was doing and hopped in the shower. Spoiler alert: it's good...really good.
Amazon's #1 Best-Selling Hair Mask
Key ingredients: Milk thistle, argan oil, plant-based protein complex, hyaluronic acid, banana flower extract
How to Use: After shampooing, leave on for 5-10 minutes or overnight.
Size: 8 oz | Texture: Light & whipped | Scent: Tea tree & peppermint
Customer Review: "This is quite possibly the best hair mask I’ve used to date. It’s so light and ‘fluffy’ and has yet to leave my hair feel weighed down. I have one row of extensions and it seems like I can’t use many conditioners let alone masks that leave it feeling clean but this one was wonderful! It’s worth every penny because you don’t even need to use much. The smell is fresh and minty just like the Divi shampoos and conditioners. Highly recommend!"
My Review
I had read enough Amazon reviews to know that it had a whipped texture. I was hoping this would mean it wouldn't weigh down my fine hair, which is my main gripe with other hair masks. (If a formula is too rich, it ends up making my hair look flat and dull. And what's the point of moisturized hair if it's also flat and dull?)
True to its name, it has a lightweight, whipped texture that moisturizes, strengthens, and boosts shine without weighing my fine hair down. Even after letting it sit in my hair for 5-10 minutes before rinsing it out, it made my hair so much softer and smoother than it was before. After drying and styling my hair, I didn't have any tangles, dullness, or rough texture. Instead, I had soft, smooth, and expensive-looking hair...which is just what I wanted.
My Hair After Drying and Styling
love that the formula contains both moisture (from argan oil) and protein (from a plant-based protein complex), so my hair is getting a little bit of everything it needs. I also love the peppermint-tea tree scent. It's so refreshing and invigorating, especially if you use it in the morning.
Amazon has never led me wrong, so I should have known I'd fall in love with this hair mask. It looks like I have another product to add to my permanent collection.
