I've Tried Hundreds of Luxury Perfumes, But This £24 Body Mist Earns Me Just as Many Compliments
I know what you're thinking, a body mist? The last time I used one of these was back in secondary school when I was spritzing myself in scents from Impulse and The Body Shop. However, after having a browse on Space NK, I discovered that one of my favourite fragrance brands, Phlur, now do a range of chic body mists that look like they will give my luxury perfumes a run for their money.
In fact, after mentioning these affordable mists to Who What Wear's beauty editor, Eleanor Vousden, she told me that she was already hooked, and loved the range of expensive-smelling, long-lasting scents. It was her comments that sold me, and I knew I had to give them a go for myself.
So, I did what any good journalist would do, and I called in every single body mist from the brand in order to put each fragrance through its paces. Keep on scrolling to read my honest review of each one, and to find out which scents came out on top...
What Is the Difference Between a Phlur Body Mist and Phlur Perfume?
If you're not familiar with TikTok-famous fragrance brand, Phlur, then I highly recommend trying the scents out for yourself. Founded by entrepreneur and influencer Chriselle Lim, there is now a wide range of perfumes to choose from, including delicate, skin-like scents and bold, fruity options. However, what makes the body mists different? Well, for one, they are much more affordable. While a perfume will set you back £99, the body mists start from just £24. They come in two sizes, and the smaller ones are so great for popping in your handbag.
Not only that, but the body mists can also be used on your hair. Yep, don't worry about purchasing a separate hair perfume, as these formulas do both, allowing you to smell amazing from head to toe.
Do Phlur Body Mists Last?
Although body mists don't typically last as long as perfumes, Phlur's offerings have impressive lasting powers. In fact, I would argue that they are just as good as the brand's perfumes. It can definitely vary depending on the notes, but I've outlined the most long-lasting options below.
The Best Phlur Body Mists, Ranked by a Beauty Editor
- Best sweet scent: Caramel Skin
- Best captivating scent: Moonstone
- Best fruity scent: Mango Mood
- Best tropical scent: Coconut Skin
- Best sensual scent: Amber Haze
- Best skin-like scent: Vanilla Skin
- Best fresh scent: Dragon Fruit
1. Caramel Skin
Key notes: Bergamot, caramel, vanilla, warm milk, brown sugar, sandalwood and musk.
First up is my current go-to scent, Caramel Skin. This gourmand fragrance is perfect for this time of year thanks to the warm, creamy aroma. Although caramel is at the heart, this body mist has impressive depth thanks to notes of sandalwood and musk. To me, it smells like snuggling up to a loved one with a plate of freshly baked cookies and a glass of warm milk in hand.
Not only do I love this scent, but I find that this body mist lasts really well on the skin. I like to pair it with a gourmand body cream to make the sweet aroma last all day.
2. Moonstone
Key notes: Green apple, pomegranate, pineapple, orange, jasmine, geranium, sandalwood and amber.
I had no idea what to expect from this fragrance, but it's quickly become one of my favourite scents from the brand. It's a fruity, floral scent at heart, but the combination of notes is what makes it so captivating. At first you are met with a burst of crisp green apple and juicy pineapple, before fresh, minty geranium takes centre stage. However, the fragrance soon dries down to a base of warming sandalwood and amber, leaving your senses totally enthralled.
3. Mango Mood
Key notes: Mango, black currant, pink pepper, wild orris flower, jasmine sambac absolute, black lotus, patchouli, vanilla extract and brown sugar.
This is an incredibly grown up version of a typically fruity scent. I didn't expect to like this as much as I did as I thought it would have an overly sweet aroma, but the brand have taken notes of mango and combined them with spicy pink pepper, powdery wild orris flower and earthy patchouli for a sensual finish. I will say that I didn't think this body mist lasted quite as well as the options above, but for £24, I don't mind topping it up throughout the day.
4. Coconut Skin
Key notes: Coconut, palm leaf, caramel gelato, jasmine absolute, frangipani, tiare blossom, sandalwood and salted amber.
It might be freezing outside, but one spritz of this body mist will transport you to a sunny tropical island with a pina colada in hand. In true Phlur style, the brand have put their own twist on a classic coconut scent, adding sweet top notes of caramel gelato and a smooth base of sandalwood and amber.
5. Amber Haze
Key notes: Saffron, jasmine absolute, amber, musk, vanilla and oak moss.
Speaking of amber, if you're a fan of the warm, musky note, then you will love this body mist. I find myself reaching for this particular scent in the evenings as it has a woody, slightly sweet and totally intoxicating aroma that is perfect for date nights. It reminds me a little bit of Baccarat Rouge 540 with hints of saffron, jasmine and oak moss. Thanks to the richer notes, this scent lasts for ages.
6. Vanilla Skin
Key notes: Vanilla, benzoin, sandalwood, pink pepper, pink apples, sugar crystals, lily, jasmine petals and cashmere wood.
This is such a unique vanilla scent that wraps you up in a beautifully warm aroma that you never want to wash off. It has a super creamy base of vanilla, benzoin and sandalwood that makes it feel as if you are spritzing cashmere onto your skin, while opening notes of pink apples and sugar crystals add a deliciously sweet touch.
7. Dragon Fruit
Key notes: Pineapple, dragon fruit, watermelon, amber, sandalwood and vanilla.
I'm a big fan of sweet scents, so although I do like this body mist from Phlur, I've put it in seventh place simply because I know that it might be too sweet for some. It's definitely more of a summer scent thanks to juicy notes of pineapple and watermelon, and it reminds me of one of those delicious, sugary, fruity cocktails that you just can't help but enjoy. Similar to Mango Mood, because of the lighter notes I don't find that this spray lasts as long as the other options, but it's definitely worth keeping in your handbag for a burst of fruity freshness throughout the day.

This is one of the brand's newer fragrances, and it's quickly become a staple in my collection. The warm, musky scent sits beautifully on the skin.
If you like fruity scents, then you will love Strawberry Letter. This gourmand fragrance is as delicious as it looks.
