Matcha! Pistachio! Pear! 2025 Is the Year of Lush Green Scents, so I Created a Shopping Manual

In 2025, the fashion crowd is swapping traditional fragrance notes (think floral and vanilla perfumes) for something brighter, fresher, and, well, greener. Lush springtime scents are trending, and the three coolest scent profiles sound like something you'd see on a menu outside of a chic café: matcha, pistachio, and pear.
These fresh, gourmand scents are far from kitschy. In fact, they're exceptionally elegant. The matcha perfumes are fresh, cool, and zen, like your morning matcha latte. The pistachio perfumes are bright, creamy, and irresistible, like pistachio gelato. Last but certainly not least, the pear perfumes are sweet, subtle, and juicy, like biting into the first ripe pear of the season. Ahead, see 15 of the best, editor-approved picks to add to instantly elevate your perfume collection.
Matcha
Notes: Fig, bergamot, bitter orange, sesame, cedarwood, vetiver, matcha tea accord
Le Labo's Thé Matcha 26 is a your-skin-but-better scent that pays homage to the history and tradition of matcha in Japanese culture. As such, the brand hopes it will inspire "a moment of introspection" for its wearers. In my opinion, it does just that.
It starts with a creamy fig note (which is why I think you'll love it if you're a fan of Phlur's Father Figure Eau de Parfum) and is followed by a grounding mix of vetiver and cedarwood—plus an uplifting note of bitter orange. It's like self-care, bottled.
Notes: Green tea, Italian bergamot, beeswax, tonka bean
Introduced in the '90s, this designer perfume centers on the green, herbal note of green tea. Italian bergamot gives it a citrusy brightness, whereas creamy tonka bean gives it a warm and grounding quality. To me, this scent is reminiscent of a hot matcha latte topped with orange zest. I can almost see the steam swirling into the air.
Notes: Bergamot, mandarin, green tea accord, orange flower, jasmine, matcha accord, benzoin, moss, white chocolate
Fans of floral fragrances will love this take on matcha. Notes like bergamot, orange flower, and jasmine create a sweet, petal-soft scent that's grounded by earthy green tea and matcha accord. Inspired by a sunlit afternoon meditation, this scent invites you to enter into a state of mindfulness. It inspires stillness, silence, and serenity.
Notes: Matcha, white chocolate, toasted pistachio, whipped cream, vanilla bean, honey caramel
A true gourmand, this sweet matcha scent is spiked with another effortlessly cool note—pistachio—for an earthy, nutty vibe. The addition of white chocolate, whipped cream, vanilla bean, and honey caramel makes it smell like a dessert, bottled.
Note: Green tea, freesia, amber
With just three notes, this scent is the ultimate "clean girl" perfume. It's simple yet sure to collect compliments thanks to a fresh combo of green tea, freesia, and amber.
Pistachio
Notes: Pistachio, cardamom, roasted almond, vanilla cremé
Leave it to D.S. & Durga to embrace pistachio, turning it into a modern It-girl scent. This fragrance features the nutty note three times—top, middle, and base included. Originally created for a limited-edition run of only 100 bottles, Pistachio received such an impressive response that the brand added it to its line permanently. It's sweet and unapologetic—a perfume for true pistachio lovers.
Notes: Pistachio gelato, hazelnut, rum, cotton candy, whipped cream
Whenever I smell this perfume, it reminds me of the trip I took to Rome. There was a little gelato shop on the corner near my Airbnb, and it had the best pistachio flavor. Funnily enough, the founder of Kayali had a similar experience, which is what inspired her to create this scent.
The main note of pistachio gelato is self-explanatory, but the hazelnut reminds me of the waffle cone I held. The rum reminds me of the warm sun touching my shoulders. The notes of cotton candy and whipped cream are the metaphorical cherries on top. It transports me back to the lively streets of Rome.
Notes: Rose water, green tea, magnolia, bergamot, pistachio, vanilla bean
Here's another scent that combines two cool-girl fragrance notes: matcha and pistachio. Even though the brand says it evokes "pure nostalgic fun," I think it's more elegant than it is fun and youthful. I think it's the rose water, magnolia, and vanilla bean that do it. Classic and traditionally feminine, these notes lend the more modern green tea and pistachio a sophisticated edge.
Notes: Vanilla mousse, pistachio, vanilla bean
With warm and creamy vanilla notes, this pistachio perfume smells like a decadent, caramelized dessert. Suddenly, I'm craving pistachio crème brûlée.
Notes: Pistachio milk, fluffy vanilla, tonka bean
As a beauty editor, I'll be the first one to say that no one—I repeat, no one—should sleep on Fine'ry fragrances. The affordable perfume brand is responsible for some vanity-worthy scents, including this one, called Pistachio Please. With notes of pistachio milk, fluffy vanilla, and tonka bean, it's a warm, creamy, and alluring scent that I can't stop spritzing.
Pear
Notes: Pear, lotus flower, gardenia
This is one of my favorite fragrances of the moment. I wear it at least three times a week, and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. The notes of juicy pear, fresh lotus flower, and breezy gardenia create the perfect daytime perfume. It's fresh, floral, and slightly sweet. It's also made for layering with the brand's other perfumes. If I want to deepen it for a nighttime scent, I'll combine it with The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods Eau de Parfum ($94).
Notes: Pear, jasmine, freshly cut grass
The brand says this perfume feels like "the perfect pair of blue jeans," and I couldn't agree more. It's soft, familiar, casual, and comfy, with notes of juicy pear, blooming jasmine, and freshly cut grass. It's special—the perfect signature scent for daytime.
Notes: Pear, freesia, patchouli
While other Jo Malone fragrances get all the attention (I'm looking at you, Wood Sage & Sea Salt!), this one is just as worthy of your attention. It's lovely and delicate, with floral-fruit notes like fresh pear, breezy freesia, and earthy patchouli. It evokes an English garden awash in summer sun.
Notes: Green pear, peony, musk.
Don't get me wrong. I love the original Burberry Her Eau de Parfum ($138), but I like this version even better. While the latter is a sweet floral, this one is softer and more skin-like, with notes of green pear, peony, and musk. It's almost as if a soft spring breeze is wafting the scent of fruit and flowers your way.
Notes: Italian bergamot, grapefruit leaves, green pear, apple, ivory gardenia, violet petals, jasmine, tuberose, blue iris, blonde wood, white musk
Tocca has a lovely assortment of perfumes, but I've always been drawn to Florence the most. Now I know why. It combines bergamot, green pear, and tuberose. I love all those notes separately, but I become pretty much feral for them when they're combined. It creates a scent that's traditionally feminine and incredibly elegant. I know others agree. Last time I wore this perfume, a stranger came up to me and said, "I hope this isn't weird, but you smell, like, so good." Enough said.
