It's Fall, so We're Buying These Cozy Lorelai and Rory Gilmore–Coded Home Goods
In an unreliable world, there are a few constants we can count on. For example, the sun will rise in the east. Taylor Swift concerts will always sell out. We'll rewatch Gilmore Girls each fall. It's officially September, so we've already begun bingeing the beloved series, starting with the first episode. You know, the one where Rory is accepted into the prestigious Chilton Prep and Lorelai begrudgingly accepts money from her parents after agreeing to a standing weekly dinner appointment. To us, it's almost as if that episode signifies the start of the fall season.
This year, we weren't content just watching the show. We wanted to feel like we were in the show. In other words, we wanted to be a Gilmore girls ourselves, so we scoured the internet for the coziest home goods to make us feel like we live in the perfect fictional fall setting of Stars Hollow. Keep scrolling to see all 17 items. Happy fall!
Nothing sets the autumnal mood better than scent. This candle is our current infatuation. Notes of charred sugar and sweet vanilla bean mingle with roasted marshmallow, birch incense, and spiced suede. It's a sultry, smoky take on a classic vanilla fragrance, and it's so comforting.
This oversize knit throw blanket reminds us of Rory and Lorelai's movie nights.
We strongly believe Lorelai would keep this on her stove, even just for décor purposes.
Byredo's Bibliothèque Candle is so Rory coded. With notes of peach, plum, peony, violet, leather, patchouli, and vanilla, it's designed to mimic the scent of a library.
A chic match cloche is the perfect accessory to any coffee table candle.
This hand soap feels very Stars Hollow–esque. Fragranced with cedarwood smoke, cardamom, cinnamon, and patchouli, it's low-key one of the best fall scents. Plus, hydrating ingredients like argan oil and hibiscus flower keep your hands soft.
Simple and creative, this mug is giving Lorelai vibes through and through.
We know this isn't technically a home good, but we had to include it anyway. Reminiscent of a crisp autumn day, this earthy and woody fragrance combines notes of red berries with cardamom, cedarwood, and moss. It's basically like Maison Margiela bottled the Stars Hollow air on a crisp fall day.
Another beauty product that we can't help but include, Fresh's Lip Sugar Hydrating Lip Balm in Caramel feels like something Lorelai would keep in her jean jacket pocket. The cushiony balm delivers 24-hour moisture, and the caramel scent is divine.
As for Rory, we think she would reach for this trendy balm/gloss in the shade Crème Brûlée. It moisturizes, plumps, and protects the lips with a glossy finish.
We know we haven't stopped with the candles, but this one reminds us of the Dragonfly Inn. Notes of wild plum, cashmere woods, cinnamon, and patchouli leaf create a falltime scent that's fresh yet warm and inviting.
If there's such a thing as a Gilmore Girls dish soap, this Spiced Pumpkin one is it.
We're also snagging this one that smells like ripe apples.
Soft, fluffy textiles are nothing without a clean, fresh scent. Brooklinen's Dream Clean Detergent has subtle notes of citrus, vanilla, and amber, so it's our go-to come fall. If you wash your throw blankets with this, they'll feel even cozier.
We want our kitchens to be as organized as Sookie St. James's. That's why we're buying these glass jars to house and organize dry goods like flour, granola, and oats.
