7 Everyday Shoes All Fashion Girls Should Own
If you're a regular Who What Wear reader, you might think that we're all currently sitting at our desks wearing summer's latest shoe trends (aka Teva-inspired sandals, wedges, and floss heels), but that couldn't be further from the truth. Now, don't get us wrong—we love trying out all (and we do mean all) the latest footwear trends, but most of the time, you'll find us wearing everyday basics. Think, loafers, ballet flats, and classic white sneakers.
Sure, the term "basic" has recently developed something of a negative connotation and probably conjures up images of "boring" shoe styles (like the ones listed above), but we'd make the case that these everyday items are the foundations of every effortlessly stylish ensemble. Admittedly, these are not the most thrilling pairs of shoes in our wardrobes, but they're the versatile, low-key staples we wear on repeat. Without further ado, keep scrolling to see and shop seven "boring" shoe styles fashion girls can't live without.
Classic White Sneakers
When in doubt, you simply can't go wrong with a pair of classic white sneakers. Low-tops pair well with everything from anti–skinny jeans to feminine frocks.
Pointed-Toe Pumps
Although they might not be practical for every day per se, pointed-toe pumps are a timeless style we'll never tire of—whether they're worn with a pair of jeans or a slip skirt.
Loafers
If you're looking for a versatile pair of everyday work shoes, consider a pair of loafers that can easily be dressed up or down depending on the casualness of your office dress code.
Ballet Flats
Ballet flats are a classic silhouette that's currently enjoying a cool-girl resurgence. Opt for a pair in a neutral hue to lean into the style's timeless Gallic charm.
Flat Sandals
Casual, everyday shoes that were pretty much made for summer, flat sandals are a must-have all fashion girls should own. A neutral pair that goes with any print will carry you through the season.
Block-Heel Mules
Block-heel mules are the cool girl–approved shoes that seemingly everyone is wearing right now. If our Instagram feed is any indication, the style isn't going away anytime soon. So if you haven't jumped on this trend, it's not too late.
Ankle Boots
Ankle boots are a fail-safe, cold-weather style that will always be in our closets. That said, you can wear ankle boots well into spring, so don't feel like you need to relegate them to the back of your closet once the temps rise above 70º.
