If Barbie Ferreira Could Only Use One Luxury Beauty Product, This Would Be It
Maybe you're familiar with Barbie Ferreira as the sultry-eyed model who's been featured in campaigns for Jacquemus and Givenchy. Maybe you know her from her character Kat Hernandez on Euphoria. Or, maybe you follow her on Instagram, where she shares envy-inducing lifestyle content with her almost six million followers. No matter how you were first introduced to her, it's clear that she's a fashion and beauty icon, and more importantly, one who's not afraid to experiment with a variety of looks, colors, and aesthetics.
We caught up with the multihyphenate actress and model on the cusp of the New Year to talk about her current beauty routine and her role as a brand ambassador for YSL Beauty. Ahead, learn how her beauty routine has evolved over time and the one (okay, maybe two) luxury products she would use for the rest of her life.
Our first question was also the toughest question. We asked which YSL Beauty product she would choose to use for the rest of her life if she could only use one. "If I had to have one product from YSL Beauty I would either choose the Lash Clash Mascara ($29) or the Black Opium Eau De Parfum ($139)," she says. "I truly can't decide between the two, but maybe smelling good is better than having sexy lashes. Tough one!"
This perfume went viral on Tik Tok thanks to its mix of warm and spicy notes. Black coffee intermingles with white flowers and vanilla for a fragrance that's gourmand yet sophisticated—not sickly sweet. We can understand why it's a must-have for Ferreira.
If you're like Ferreira, and you love volumizing mascara, this one might just top the list. It has an intense black finish and an oversized brush to give lashes maximum definition and density.
We can't talk about Ferreira's beauty routine without talking about how it has changed over time. She did, after all, play a pivotal role in HBO's Euphoria—the influence of which can't be overstated. It quite literally caused a ripple effect throughout the beauty industry and changed the way many of us see and wear makeup. "Right now, I’m feeling very lacy and textural," Ferreira says. "I’m going heavy on the blush with Nu Lip & Cheek Balmy Tint ($26) and playing with the colors in the Couture Clutch Palette ($). My look has always evolved based on how I’m feeling—and right now in my life, I’m feeling grown and whimsical!"
This 2-in-1 balm and blush is formulated with hyaluronic acid for a hydrating flush of color.
The 10 colors in Ferreira's favorite palette range from neutral beige to rich garnet.
Ferreira has a penchant for bold and experimental makeup (that is if her Instagram is any indication), so we needed to know, which products does she swear by when she wants a full-glam look? "For glam makeup, foundation is crucial," she says. "I use YSL Beauty's new All Hours Foundation ($56) with a wet sponge and make sure the blend is good. It's perfect for glam because it's long-lasting, waterproof, and transfer-proof."
"I will even use the same foundation, but in a darker shade as a contour," Ferreira says.
Aside from foundation, Ferreira also counts a bold lip as a necessity. She likes these aptly named ones, which come in a range of shades and finishes. "I loooove a bold lip for glam and The Bold has incredible options," Ferreira says. "I like layering the more matte formulas with the shiny ones." We like the fact that they're formulated with grape oil to keep lips soft, smooth, and comfortable under the high-impact color.
Finally, we had to know if there were any goals or intentions she was bringing into the New Year (excuse our cheesiness, but it is January after all). As it turns out, there were. "My goal this new year is to stay focused, work on my craft, and enjoy myself," she says. "I just want to be the best version of me." That's a New Years' goal we can get behind.
