I'm a Beauty Editor, and These Are All the Products I'm Eyeing Up for Autumn
As a junior beauty editor, I'm always hearing about the latest beauty launches and the most popular products on the market. I love finding out what skincare, makeup and haircare products people are loving, and not just because it's my job. That being said, being surrounded by beauty products all the time often means that I'm left wanting to try out all of them for myself.
This is especially true at the start of a new season—I love a good skincare refresh when spring comes along, and I always switch up my makeup routine for summer. However, with autumn just around the corner, lots of my favourite brands have already started releasing exciting new beauty bits, and some of my go-to products for the colder months are in need of a serious restock.
Autumn is my favourite time for getting cosy and indulging in some self-care, and I've been neglecting my beauty routine of late because summer is always such a busy time. But this September I plan on staying in and giving myself several much-needed pamper sessions. If you're the same then you might want to keep on scrolling, as I've rounded up all of the products that I've got my eyes on to try this autumn.
This is more of a wish list than a shopping list, as I definitely won't be buying all of these, but if I do end up treating myself to one or two bits, these are my most-wanted products.
A Beauty Editor's Autumn Wishlist:
When it comes to autumn, I am all about hydrating my skin. I am a big fan of body oils, so when I saw that Phlur had released a body oil in the brand's signature scent, it went to the top of my wishlist. Missing Person is the perfect autumnal fragrance with soft, musky notes throughout.
While summer is all about late nights and early mornings, autumn is all about prioritising that beauty sleep. Speaking of, how beautiful is this zodiac-inspired silk sleep mask from Slip? I'd wear this every night.
Nothing says self-care like a night in doing face masks and watching your favourite films. My skin has been feeling congested as of late, so I plan on getting this clarifying clay mask from Lumene.
Something I like to switch up for the new season is my makeup look, and nothing says autumn like a deep red lip. This Gucci lipstick is the first ever lipstick by creative director Sabato De Sarno, and the shade is inspired by the walls of an elevator in The Savoy Hotel, where founder Guccio Gucci once worked as a porter.
Does anyone else use a new season as an excuse to revamp their home? I plan on giving my bathroom a bit of a spruce this September, and this chic new hand lotion from none other than Maison Francis Kurkdjian would be the perfect addition.
The Rhode blushers have been all over my TikTok feed and it's safe to say that they look incredible. I am yet to give them a go, but if I was to get one for autumn, I would opt for the shade Toasted Teddy.
Diptyque's Eau Papier scent is one of my favourites, and reminds me of cosying up in a library while flicking through a new book. The brand have released a limited edition candle in the same scent, and I can't wait to burn this in my home this autumn.
I was lucky enough to try out this moisturiser before it launched and I plan on stocking up ASAP. It is the perfect moisturiser to wear under makeup this autumn, as it hydrates and soothes the skin barrier while also prepping the skin for foundation or concealer.
Tom Ford's original Ombré Leather fragrance is always an autumn go-to thanks to the cosy, sensual scent. However, the brand's newest version might just be my new favourite. With notes of amber and vanilla, it's the sort of fragrance that will wrap you up like cashmere and feel like a warm hug.
In summer I fell out of my usual beauty routines, but this autumn I want to get back to focusing on my hair health. This Living Proof hair serum has been on my wishlist for a while as it works to reduce shedding and increase hair density.
I like to make my showers a bit more luxurious in autumn, and nothing says luxury like a Frederic Malle body wash in the signature Portrait of A Lady scent.
