The countdown for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia is on, and the most coveted spot on the schedule has been announced. Edwina Forest and Adrian Norris' AJE will be the coveted Mercedes-Benz Presents designer at this year's Sydney fashion week. The opening show will kick off a week-long schedule.
Australian designers (established and emerging) will showcase Resort 2020 collections at Carriageworks from May 12 to 17, 2019, commemorating four years since MBFWA transitioned from presenting Spring Summer collections, to solely Resort.
“The event’s continued growth underscores the value of its 2016 repositioning, which established Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia as the world’s first Fashion Week focused exclusively on Resort Collections,” Natalie Xenita, executive director of IMG Fashion Asia-Pacific said of the change. “We’ve since seen double to triple-digit growth across designer participation, international media and buyer attendance.”
While we wait for the official designer schedule to be announced, take a look back at some of our favorite presentations from 2018.
