The Contents of This ASOS Insider's Makeup Bag Cost £278—Here's What's Inside
If you've ever wanted to know what's really inside the makeup bags of the most stylish women in the industry, you're in luck. We've created a new column, Show Me the (Makeup) Money, to uncover the beauty products our fashion friends genuinely keep in their daily rotation—and how much their stash actually costs. I'll be delving inside their bags on your behalf and totting up every item in there, from the most expensive to the cheapest. Not only will you be left with an incredible shopping list, but also a realistic price tag to boot. Is there someone whose makeup bag you're dying to see inside? Slide into my Instagram DMs with your requests, and I'll see what I can do. This month, we're delving inside the everyday makeup bag of London-based blogger and ASOS Insider Lesley Buckle.
She's one of the most-followed people I have on Instagram for both beauty and fashion inspiration. Lesley has amassed a social media following of over 150,000 thanks to the way that she serves up achievable makeup looks and high-street outfit inspiration across her two Instagram accounts: @freshlengths and @asos_lesley. The Londoner also blogs about all things hair, beauty and style over on Fresh Lengths, which she launched when she "decided to quit my full-time job to pursue things that I'm actually passionate about—blogging being one of them." With skin that looks as luminous in photos as it does in real life, I couldn't wait to dive inside Lesley's everyday makeup bag to see which products she swears by.
Worth a pretty impressive £278, keep scrolling to shop the contents of Lesley's makeup bag for yourself.
"Ideal for oilier skin types, this primer is one of my faves for smoothing out my skin before applying my base. It mattifies but makes skin feel super soft and it keeps my makeup on for longer."
"I have so many foundations I love, but I always go back to this one by Smashbox. Its shade range is extensive and it has lots of different undertones too! This stays on all day without drying my skin out and I don't even have to set it."
"I have a habit of not getting enough sleep. This really helps brighten under my eyes when I'm looking particularly tired!"
"This a relatively new addition to my makeup bag, but I'm reaching for it every day to bring some warmth back to my skin now that my summer tan has completely faded."
"I love looking glowy, but I like it to look natural, so this highlighter by Milk Makeup is a dream. It's a subtle champagne pearl. I love the pop it adds to my cheeks and brow bones."
"I couldn't just mention one highlighter, as I tend to wear a mix of two for everyday looks. I know it's a bit extra, but again the Babe Bronze is super subtle. I love this combined with the Milk highlighter especially, as the colours together make for a more seamless look on my skin tone."
"BareMinerals blushes are my favourite. The pigmentation is beautiful and they blend really nicely on the skin. I use a few different shades, but this pink-peach shade is super flattering across a range of tones."
"My brows are my nemesis. I have so much hair on my head, but I wasn't blessed there, unfortunately, so I rely on Brow Flick to fill in what I don't have naturally. The formula is semi-sheer, so it's easy to add hairs that look realistic. It also dries instantly and doesn't budge all day."
"To add that little extra, I'll apply Boy Brow on top of Brow Flick, or if I want a more fluffy natural look, I'll use this on its own."
"I tend to use this mascara on a daily basis, as I love how it adds volume to my lashes without making them look clumpy. It's the blackest black and it stays on and doesn't flake."
"I don't always use liner, but when I do, I've been reaching for the Marc Jacobs Highliner. It's a rich black pigment, and once this is on it does not move at all."
"I rarely use powder but I do have oily skin so sometimes have to press a little over my T-zone. The Laura Mercier translucent powder is so seamless and keeps the shine at bay."
"It's one of my favourite gloss formulas, as it's super shiny without the stickiness, so I almost always have a Fenty Beauty gloss bomb in my makeup bag. I tend to carry the mini versions with me most as they're easy to pop into smaller bags and the shade Sweet Mouth is a pretty shimmery pink."
