Ashley Olsen's Baggy Pants Are So Much Cooler Than Skinny Jeans

While skinny jeans are definitely a wardrobe classic, we talk a lot about the other cool options out there if you want to mix it up a bit. You have Nicole Kidman's bell bottoms, posh trousers à la Jennifer Lopez, and Lucy Hale's particularly chic collection of wide-leg jeans, and now you have a laid-back outfit from Ashley Olsen.

Photographed en route to the movie theater, Olsen wore a cozy outfit that included an oversize sweater, ultra-baggy pants, and casual pool slides. It's not an outfit that particularly screams summer, but leave it to Olsen to stick to her personal aesthetic—read: all-black—at all times. Oh, and did you happen to notice she's wearing a new ring on that finger? No word yet if it's an engagement ring, but we'll be waiting with bated breath to find out. In the meantime, scroll down to see how she styled baggy pants and shop similar pieces for yourself. Who knows, maybe you'll end up putting your skinny jeans on hold for a bit and giving wide-leg trousers a whirl.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
