You may have noticed that we've been paying a lot of attention to anti-trend and trend-free style lately. In the world we live in these days, the pace of the trend cycle is enough to make anyone's head spin. And it's kind of the worst when you buy a certain trend only to find it on an "out" list soon after. It's a personal pet peeve of mine.
In studying French style over the years, something I've found impossible to ignore is that the country's citizens don't care quite as much about trends as those in other places typically do. This is the reason their style is often referred to as "classic." For the most part, French women rely on staple pieces such as blazers, striped sweaters, loose trousers, trench coats, straight-leg jeans, and white button-downs. Some of these items may even seem a bit cliché, but as you'll see below, they wear 'em.

Relaxed neutrals are a staple in most French girls' wardrobes, and the beauty of them is that they're so easy to mix and match. Don't forget to add a few luxe accessories, like a leather belt and black shades.
