Anne Hathaway has been a bonafide beauty icon ever since her Princess of Genovia days. Recently, though, she's been leaning into a cool '60s aesthetic that's turning even more heads than usual. From shift dresses to bouffants and beyond, she's making the mod look relevant again (but, then again, when wasn't it?).

She debuted her most recent '60s-inspired look on the Elle's Women in Hollywood red carpet. Her long brunette locks were styled in perfectly undone waves, and her lash-grazing bangs were full and voluminous. It was giving us some serious French-girl references—a cross between Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot to be exact.

We had to know how she achieved this "less is more" look, so we tapped her hairstylist to get all the nitty gritty details. Hint: it's easier than you think and only takes three products. Keep scrolling to learn how to replicate this look at home.

Celebrity hairstylist and Virtue ambassador, Rena Calhoun, was responsible for Hathaway's look. And, no surprise here, the reference was, in fact, Jane Birkin. "For Anne’s Elle 2022 Women in Hollywood event look, I wanted to give her a ‘less is more’ down styled do, allowing her natural beauty to truly shine through, as it always does," she said. "I love the simplicity of the look, almost as if she just woke up this way, against the elegance of her gown, for the most striking contrast."

She used just three products to achieve this style. Keep scrolling to shop them all.
