Anna Wintour Unknowingly Sparked These Hilarious Tweets
"We Are Dead But Anna Wintour Is Immortal," wrote The Cut. What sparked the genius headline? Amid rampant rumors that Anna Wintour's September issue of Vogue will be her last, Condé Nast CEO Bob Sauerberg took to Twitter to set the record straight—sort of.
"Anna Wintour is an incredibly talented and creative leader whose influence is beyond measure," he stated. "She is integral to the future of our company's transformation and has agreed to work with me indefinitely in her role as @voguemagazine editor-in-chief and artistic director of Condé Nast."
There's one word that caught the internet's attention: indefinitely. Will she still be a cyborg editor in chief in 50 years? Inquiring minds want to know. (One Instagrammer even took the liberty of photoshopping Wintour in a Matrix costume for your enjoyment.) While Sauerberg's statement was intended to squash rumors once and for all, it actually sparked plenty of funny reactions ruminating on Wintour's "indefinite" future—see our favorite ones below.

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
