We All Know This Necklace Style Makes Your Outfits Look More Expensive

Jewellery is one of those things that you tend not to buy yourself, instead, you wait for your birthday or a special occasion and hope that someone has been listening to your hints. However, considering this is something you wear every single day and can really help put your look together, we think you shouldn't just wait for others to expand your collection.

This year, the Instagram set is getting behind London-based small jewellery line Alighieri, which creates the most amazing gold medallion necklaces inspired by Dante Alighieri's poem Divine Comedy. Designer Rosh Mahtani explains on her website that she wanted to create modern heirlooms inspired by literature, and the necklaces look like treasures you might find among the British Museum's antiquities.

The medallions all tell their own story, referencing different moments in the poem, explaining why the necklaces you might have seen on Instagram all look ever-so-slightly different. And £210 for your very own heirloom isn't too bad if you ask us. The new collection is devoted to all signs of the zodiac in slightly smaller "baby" discs, meaning you can own a piece that's uniquely personal. Keep scrolling to see how the Instagram set have been wearing their medallions, and shop our favourites below.
