Alexa Chung Wore the Perfect Princess Dress to Meet the Duchess of Cambridge

Last night Alexa Chung spent the evening with the Duchess of Cambridge (and her dad, who was her date) at the 2017 Portrait Gala at the National Portrait Gallery. While we certainly admired Kate Middleton's £8900 candy pink tourmaline and green amethyst earrings, it's Alexa Chung's princess gown that is really making us gawp.

Alexa wore a playful, polka dot gown from Loewe's upcoming A/W 17 collection, which reminds us of a classic fairytale dress. For her night with royalty, Alexa gave us a modern update on princess-dressing, thanks to the off-the-shoulder neckline, oversize puffy sleeves, pretty little polka dot bows covering the skirt and an unexpectedly visible zip down the back of the dress.

Polka dots might have a twee reputation, but when paired with the right silhouette, this spotty print could be the answer to all our summer wedding dress woes.
