Alexa Chung Just Wore the Most Unexpected Dress Trend

If you're a teenager of the mid '00s, you know Alexa Chung's style. Dressed down it's usually a mix of jeans, sneakers and her favourite Prada jumper with a peacoat or Barbour thrown over the top. When she has big events, we're used to seeing her in maxi or midi dresses, such as her black sequin dress she wore to the Fashion Awards last week (by her eponymous label, no less). Thing is, we thought we knew her style, we thought we could guess pretty much what she might wear. But then last night she managed to surprise us with the most jaw-dropping, sassy dress we've probably ever seen her in.

At an event hosted by Vogue and Netflix to celebrate the BAFTA breakthrough nominations, Alexa chose to wear fashion week favourite 16 Arlington. The dress in question was an off-the-shoulder mini in bubblegum pink. It was also embellished with overflowing feathers. If we had the chance to pick a dress that definitely wasn't very Alexa, this would be it. Of course she looked incredible and opted for a pair of sheer tights and black pumps to finish off the look, giving a nod to her usual style.
