Three's a trend, as the saying goes, and in the past few weeks we've spotted three arbiters of cool wearing Mango leather jackets when they could, in all reality, easily purchase an equivalent designer style. First came Gigi Hadid in an oversized brown, distressed leather moto style—she wore hers with a crop top, sweeping maxi skirt and ballet pumps for a combination that practically mapped out all of 2024's strongest revival trends.

Then last week Emily Ratajkowski followed suit in a similarly-toned cropped leather jacket style that featured a more mod-like, A-line fit and a pointy collar. It too was rendered in that worn-in, "tumbled" leather effect that has come to the fore since Miu Miu introduced the idea earlier in the year. EmRata's was used as a throw-on layer over a chunky knit, worn with black, boot-cut trousers (yes, those are back too), sneakers and a furry hat.

And then, just this weekend, we spied the very same jacket on Alexa Chung's Instagram Stories, combined with a simple black knit and jeans for a sightseeing ensemble in Venice. This isn't the first time we've witnessed a power group of A-listers decree that a piece of outerwear from Mango deserves It status. Last winter, a simple, elevated wool coat was the chosen item, with Sienna Miller, Katie Holmes, Gigi Hadid and Alexa Chung (see a pattern emerging here?) all wearing it out and about on the coldest of days.

Mango's range of leather jackets is something that influencers and editors have stood by during the past few autumn/winter seasons, and although some iterations are more expensive than those of the brand's high-street competitors, it is incredibly hard to come by genuinely good quality leather at a cheaper price point. What's fantastic right now though, is that with the Black Friday deals that are on, Chung and Ratajowski's £300 style is reduced to £260, whilst Hadid's is marked down from £350 to £300. Sale season is always a solid time to buy classic outerwear at a discounted price, and a simple and versatile leather jacket will always be a good-value purchase.
