I Know It's Early to Talk About Spring, But I've Just Found the Perfect Pieces
I know we're still waiting on Christmas and New Year's Eve, but I'm going to be honest here and say I'm over wearing coats, jumpers and boots, and just want spring to hurry up. I have been keeping a close eye on the spring collections trickling into new-in sections and I'm already prepared to make a bold claim and say there is one brand that has well and truly nailed it for spring 2020. Australian brand Albus Lumen was launched by stylist Marina Afonina in 2015, and it's all about easy, relaxed basics that have an unexpected edge. I think the spring 2020 collection is the strongest yet, one that will really propel this little-known brand beyond its current insider status.
The collection shows that minimal dressing doesn't have to be boring, as although it is built around core basics including shirt dresses, trouser suits, linen shorts and polo shirts, the silhouettes and distinctive colour palette make it feel particularly interesting. The collection uses soft and muted shades, including baby blue, a beautiful sage green, deep browns and a salmon pink. The collection only dropped on Matches and Net-a-Porter weeks ago, but it's already been worn by Instagram stars like Monikh—she wore the baby pink polo shirt with the pointed collars.
