You're Going to See a Lot of This Very Specific Denim Style This Year

While there are of course some exceptions, we find the chicest jeans are always the simplest jeans. Sure the silhouettes can change from skinny to straight to loose without compromising on sleekness, but as for adornments and embellishments? We find they, at best, date rather quickly or, at worst, look cheaper than they often are. There are, however, some tweaks that can be made that are so subtle but also so ingenious, they actually improve upon and help to elevate jeans. And that's where Agolde comes in.
Agolde jeans have been dominating in fashion circles of late thanks to their flawless cuts and premium-looking washes—even the lightest, borderline-bleach denim, which can often go wrong, looks super luxe. While its classic denim is undoubtedly a hit, there's one pair of Agolde jeans in particular that have caught, not only our eye, but those of some of our favourite Instagram dressers.
We first spotted Agolde's criss-cross jeans on Dutch and Nigerian style star, Amaka Hamelijnck. Featuring an overlap at the high-rise waist, which creates a cool, asymmetric design, we were impressed at how something as simple as the repositioning of a button and zip could make take a garment to new sartorial heights.
Fast-forward a few short months and fellow influencer Jessica Skye debuted her pair of Agolde criss-cross jeans. Styling them with a chic sweetheart neckline knitted top tucked in, she made the right call—this is a waistline that is meant to be seen; not hidden underneath a jumper or cardigan.
Agolde's criss-cross jeans have gone in and out of stock throughout the latter half of 2020 but now, we're pleased to report, that Net-A-Porter has recently had a restock of the cult denims. Not only that, but the high-end shopping hotspot also now carries them in a polished grey colour-way, and has reduced the fresh white iteration in its winter sale.
If you love them as much as we do, scroll below to shop all of Agolde's criss-cross jeans (and shorts!). Then, proceed to shop some of our other denim picks from the brand.
