Here's How Our Editors Spend $100 at Nordstrom
Have you Kondo-ed your closet yet? As a fashion editor, by default, I tend to shop a lot. Consequently, I’ve forced myself to spring-clean my closet a lot too. (The fact that I have been binge-watching Tidying Up on Netflix also might have something to do with it.) But as the saying goes, out with the old and in with the new. So what new pieces are sparking joy right now? While Zara, Topshop, and Mango are some of my favorite fashion retailers for affordable and exciting new pieces, I also can’t forget trusty Nordstrom. There’s no doubt its range of products is extensive with a capital E, and it has some great contemporary, cool brands hiding behind the plethora of drop-down tabs. I turned to my fellow editors to see how they would spend $100 at Nordstrom. From can’t-live-without leggings to of-the-moment handbags, scroll below for the affordable pieces our editors are buying for themselves right now.
I'm ready to strip off my merino wool thermal socks and get my toes into these of-the-moment strappy sandals—just as soon as the temps start to rise. Time for a pedicure!
"I'm aware that black leggings aren't the most exciting thing to buy with $100, but these are the most amazing black leggings I've ever worn, so just trust me."
"I wear high-waisted jeans nearly every day, and the above from Levi's are always in my rotation."
"I realized I haven't been wearing my basic gold hoops much lately, and I think it's because they need an upgrade. I love this new twist (get it?) on the staple by Laura Lombardi."
"I'll let you in on a secret: Nordstrom stocks Reformation, and it's a great place to find pieces that have sold out on the brand's website. This square-neck top is a piece I'll be adding to my wardrobe."
"This season, I'm really leaning into faux-fur bucket hats for winter. I feel like the trend feels fresh, and it's a great way to stay warm without wearing your beanie for the 10th day in a row."
"Here's a little-known (or at least little-discussed) fact: Topshop's denim selection is lit. It always nails the coolest jean styles of the moment—at a very attractive price point, I might add—and this trouser-inspired style is its latest must-have."
"Cult Gaia has truly emerged as an accessory pacesetter. Maybe it's because it's the middle of winter, but this rattan bag is calling my name. A good excuse to book a vacation, right?"
"I always rely on Nordstrom for my activewear. There's a huge selection as well as reliable product reviews that make it easy to choose without trying on. I'll be adding this pair of Alo leggings to my arsenal ASAP."
