The 17 Cult Designer Buys That Cost Less Than £350
One of the best pieces of style advice we've ever been given is to always shop quality over quantity. It's a no-brainer, really: Buy one really well-made piece that will last season after season, and make your money back with cost per wear. The only trouble is that not all of us can afford to invest in pieces that set us back thousands of pounds. It's a bit of a catch 22.
Luckily many designers have caught onto the fact that a large swathe of their customer bases (often those in their 20s) are wanting a piece of the action without having to sell all their earthly possessions. Whether it's lesser-known designers like Staud and Ganni opting for more reasonable price points or name brands like Gucci and Burberry offering chic yet affordable accessories, there's plenty out there to get excited about.
We love Prada's black nylon wash bag, which we would totally wear as a clutch—coming in at only £210, no one need know it isn't part of the brand's main bag collection. Jewellery is another cost-efficient way to inject high-end appeal into your wardrobe. Chanel offers a stunning range of brooches that can be added to any outfit that needs a designer lift—we'd pin ours to a bag or classic black blazer. With Christmas getting closer, it's time to start dropping those hints...
Style Notes: Gucci's hair clip has to be the ultimate in low-key luxury. Wear with everything from a party dress to a woolly knit.
Style Notes: Lucy Williams wears Ganni's sellout Julliard stripe jumper, a piece that will continue to look chic season after season.
Style Notes: Many of the Who What Wear team own Staud's Bissett bucket bag. A designer piece for only £290—why would you not?
Style Notes: Gucci's cult logo belt is just the lift that a classic trench coat needs.
