Abercrombie & Fitch Got a Gen Z Makeover, and These Outfits Are Absolutely 10/10
For the past two years, my now 19-year-old brother has asked for the same thing for his birthday—an Abercrombie & Fitch gift card. (I've tried to get him something else, but that's simply what he wants.) Considering those in his age group were toddlers when the brand was popular the first time around, it's safe to say that the majority of Gen Z is falling for Abercrombie & Fitch for the first time, and they're falling hard. Older Gen Zers like myself face a much chicer and elevated version of a brand that looks nothing like what we shopped in the 2000s.
My TikTok algorithm has been sending Abercrombie & Fitch hauls my way, and my interest has finally been piqued. I tried on a few of the brand's new arrivals recently, and after being thoroughly impressed with the quality, I've put together eight fall/winter-ready outfits from the brand. While Gen Z may be happily repeating some fashion mistakes (you live and learn), they're also making some smart shopping decisions, and Abercrombie & Fitch is one of them. Even if you're not part of Gen Z, the classic pieces below are ones you'll want to add to your shopping cart.
When you have a coat that's as chic as this, it doesn't matter how simple the pieces underneath are. While this coat would look great with black trousers, a brown pair will add more interest to the look without being a distraction from the coat.
Instead of tucking an oversize sweater into jeans like usual, switch things up with a denim skirt instead. It'll make it seem like you put a lot more effort into your look, especially with a pair of tall boots.
Take notes from the French fashion set and add a bouclé/tweed jacket to your wardrobe. Even with a simple tank and jeans, you'll look extremely polished. The cropped and structured fit of the jacket is a great juxtaposition to the relaxed fit of the denim.
Trench coats make everything look good, even sweatpants. They may be seen as a sign of "giving up," but when they're styled like this, I'll gladly wear them with pride.
Now that fall is here, it's time to bring out the cozy cable-knit sweaters. Channel your inner Rory Gilmore, people!
Blazers and trousers don't only make up a professional outfit. With a basic T-shirt and baseball cap, the combo works for a more casual outing as well.
You can easily wear this floral set in the warmer months, but with a leather blazer and heeled boots, it makes for the ideal going-out outfit for fall.
If you're going out for the night, your coat doesn't have to ruin your outfit. This Wool-Blend Blanket Coat will actually make it even better.
