Basics are the unsung heroes of our wardrobes, often doing the heavy lifting when it comes to constructing an outfit of note. I’m one to cut corners where I can, but I also recognize that a well-made T-shirt has the ability to make an ensemble. Case in point: a sequin midi skirt with a simple white tee is a holiday party cornerstone; it just doesn’t have the same effect when said tee is too flimsy or lacking shape. That being said, whenever I need to stock up on cool basics, I usually head to Nordstrom first. In case you didn’t know, it has some of the best basics brands like COS, Madewell, and & Other Stories all in one place. The convenience is extremely satisfying.
This season I’m specifically on the lookout for elevated basics to add into my rotation. Dark-wash denim, everyday sweaters, and sneakers are all on my list. So I spent an embarrassing amount of time thumbing through Nordstrom’s selection, and the below 30 made the cut.
