33 Cheap Nordstrom Basics I'm Buying to Get '90s Celebrity Airport Style
Airport style has been quite rare lately, but honestly, I don't mind because the travel looks of the '90s were undoubtedly the best. As I start to plan my summer trips, I'm taking notes from the past to perfect my airport look and keep things comfortable yet chic. If you take a turn through the '90s photo archives, you'll be surprised at how relevant each of the looks is to this day. Celebs like Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell have a gold mine of vintage outfit inspiration, but their travel looks are a personal favorite to sift through. (Plus, they're the most wearable.)
In fact, their outfits predicted many of the significant 2023 trends on the horizon. Yep, there are big bags, silky trousers, tailored suiting, and everything "lowkey luxury." I couldn't help but want to re-create these looks immediately, so I found all the simple pieces needed for each outfit at Nordstrom. Go on to see the best '90s celebrity airport style, and get ready to shop the outfits.
Mariah Carey wore a slip dress and mules to the airport, and so would we.
The kind of black dress you can wear to multiple occasions, and Carey proves the airport can be one of them.
Is there anyone more stylish than Crawford? In my opinion, not a chance. This blazer-style leather jacket couldn't be more on-trend.
Try out a moto jacket to make Crawford's look more on-trend for 2023.
I love that Mango stocks it's latest arrivals at Nordstrom, so you can shop all your favorites in one place.
Okay, Whitney Houston, I want to steal this entire outfit immediately.
Our editor in chief tried this on and couldn't stop raving about it.
Gwyneth Paltrow is mastering minimalism in this look. These simple black and gray tones are perfection.
I surprisingly don't own a pair of gray trousers yet, and Paltrow is reminding me that needs to change.
Kate Moss proves that a simple outfit of jeans and a tee can be upgraded with a great leopard bag.
Cardigans are back in a huge way, and this look proves they're the ultimate airport outfit staple.
Yep, zip-up sweaters are the comfortable airport outfit staple that is also stylish.
With this in your arsenal, you'll be cozy as can be during your plane ride.
I know these are a little over our $100 budget and are more '80s style, but I couldn't help it. The slimming silhouette is not too skinny but also not too baggy. It's just right.
Jennifer Lopez can truly do no wrong, including this chic winter airport look with a cream sweater and jeans.
If jeans aren't your thing for traveling, try linen trousers.
Silky pants don't only have to be for an occasion, according to Moss.
Can you tell I'm a little Mango obsessed right now? These look so luxe.
With her beige suit and padded headband, Princess Diana clearly predicted some of the current trends decades ago.
Chocolate brown is the color we all have our eyes on right now.
Iman's straight-leg jeans and double-breasted blazer feel very 2023.
I can already imagine wanting to wear this top almost every day.
Jeans and a white top never looked so good, Julia.
While Julia Roberts opted for a straight leg, I'd be interested to see the simple look above with barrel jeans, the latest denim trend of 2023.
