Thanks, TikTok: These Are the Items That Went Viral in 2022
It's no secret that in the past few years, TikTok has blown up as the top social media app for discovering trends and finding enjoyable content. It's become a powerful force in the beauty and fashion industries, constantly putting new products to the test with millions watching. With the algorithm giving everybody—not just those with a large number of followers—a space on the For You page to share product recommendations, it's changed the way people are shopping.
The app has a massive amount of pull on consumers, and many product gems have made it to "viral" status this year. Some we already love here at Who What Wear, and they ended up quickly making it to the masses, and some were even new and intrigued us editors just the same. Hundreds of products have gone viral on TikTok's algorithm in 2022, but below, I rounded up the 30 worth the hype.
When Bella Hadid was spotted wearing a pair of Adidas Sambas, they were quick to sell out. Now, they've become the It sneakers of 2022, and with the right amount of waiting, you'll be able to find them in stock at Adidas. (Trust me; set alerts.)
Buying jeans is a tricky game, and I often turn to TikTok for try-on videos to see everyone's thoughts on if popular jeans run true to size. According to many users, this pair fits like a dream.
It's moisturizing and brightening and doesn't crease—what more could you want in a concealer?
Metallic has been having a moment this year, and these jeans are on many wish lists currently.
Anyone who does a review on Totême outwear claims it's absolutely worth the investment.
Considering two shades are currently out of stock, I'm guessing this product really gets a lot of love.
When Gracie Wiener started her Instagram page @ironicboatandtote, the old-school L.L.Bean tote shot up to viral status. Add a custom monogram with your initials or a quirky saying.
I saw this in-store after seeing it on TikTok and fell in love with the scent. I decided I'd come back for it later, and it shortly was sold out everywhere. After setting up an alert, I finally got my hands on a bottle and have learned not to pass something so great ever again.
Banana Republic has been stirring up a bit of a comeback, and this bag is on the minds of many. Made out of Italian suede, it's reminding many of more higher-end brands like The Row or Khaite.
This classic shoulder bag is the investment-worthy bag you'll keep in your closet forever. After watching a dozen unboxings of it, I've added it to my own wish list.
Trust me when I say it's a miracle that these are in stock. These days, quality loose trousers can cost a pretty penny, and these are a steal.
I was a newbie to this brand, but after seeing plenty of reviews, I decided to give it a try during the Sephora sale. My brow routine has been forever changed in the best way possible.
Réalisation makes the dresses that people will stop to give you compliments on, and this one is no exception.
Another Bella Hadid moment. (TikTok's even coined a word for those who follow her style closely—Bellabots.)
Clinique Black Honey lipstick has been a fan favorite for as long as I can remember, so the brand made many happy when it released a lip gloss version.
Abercrombie seems to be TikTok's new favorite brand, and after trying out many pieces, I can say the praise is well-deserved. These jeans are ultra flattering.
If this product isn't in your beauty drawer yet, what are you waiting for? The raving reviews (online and offline) are endless.
When this scarf was viral last year, I decided to let it go. I ended up purchasing it this year, and it's become my favorite cold-weather accessory. I've already worn it four times in just a week. It's like a portable blanket that makes your outfit look cooler.
