Style Stalker: November

While celebrating real girls with great style will always be something that's near and dear to our hearts, our monthly focus on these muses has undergone a wee change. But not to worry, dear readers, though the story name is new, we're still spotlighting six fashionable ladies with killer individual style. (After all, a rose by any other name still smells sweet, right?) But let's not dwell on semantics; the fun part lies in the new and noteworthy ways in which our subjects arrange their attire. From pulling out all the stops with the perfect pop of color to recreating a runway trend for real-life wear, these trendsetters are filled with sonnet-worthy sartorial tips. And since we could never turn a blind eye to the poetry of perfectly articulated personal style, without any further ado, we bring you these six ladies chic and fair in our inaugural installment of StyleStalker!

A few red accents add interest to a neutral outfit.
Becca, 24, from New York, is an ideal candidate to launch us into cocktail season. Her black and white ensemble is all-occasion appropriate, yet her choice of strategically placed color makes said outfit all her own. We love her oversized floral purse that is both cheeky and ladylike and adds some whimsy to her prim-and-proper look. Plus, the addition of a vibrant lip color and nail polish also livens up her ensemble and makes it youthful and fun. Grab a bag akin to Becca's by opting for Valentino's Petale Satchel ($2495), or go for Steve Madden's Bruffle Bag ($88) for a dose of raspberry-colored ruffle that's less of an investment. As for her eye-catching pout, we recommend shu uemura's Rouge Unlimited Supreme Shine Lip Color ($30) in Rd165 for its bold color and sleek clutch-ready capsule. Finally, we'd hand our lovely manicure over to the experts at Sephora by OPI and opt for Nail Colour ($9) in Madame President, a perfect, primary red.

Harem pants tucked into OTK boots makes for a fashion-forward look.
We love how Pasqualina, 25 from Italy created her own version runway-to-real-way look by channeling the Chloe F/W 09 runway show. Her black harem pants and over-the-knee boots combo makes for a spot-on and fashion-forward silhouette, while her silky blouse adds a luxe bohemian vibe to the whole ensemble. You can recreate Pasqualina's show-stopping outfit by pairing the stylish and comfortable Bop Basics Harem Pants ($96) with black leather Rumala Over-The-Knee Boots ($199) from Guess. The moderate heel height makes these shoes day-and-night friendly, so they're an ideal purchase for any winter wardrobe.

Borrowed-from-the-boys basics make a perfect off-duty look.
Perhaps it's her contemplative expression, but June, 19, from Indonesia, has a certain studious air about her—and her ensemble. Her strategically half-tucked, rolled-sleeve button-down is a great effortlessly casual piece that still appears thoughtfully assembled. As well, she continues to explore the terrain within her neutral palette by adding an oversized leather satchel, perfect for holding a notebook and pen! We'd steal a page from her style file by snagging the silky silver Choe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Baggy Button-Down ($380); which has oversized pockets identical to June's selection. Then we'd pick up All Saints' lovely leather Viala Foldover Bag ($170) in Bitter to complete our chic, weekend-worthy attire.

Patterned tights and a bomber jacket will update a shirtdress.
Tieka, 23, from Michigan proves you just need a few key, killer pieces to transition your look between seasons. Her cool bomber-style jacket adds edge to her classic shirtdress, while her diamond patterned tights give her a directional leg-up on fall fashion. If you'd like to update your closet's current contents, we recommend picking up S.W.O.R.D.'s Ardea Leather Jacket ($803), which is a great investment piece, or the PU Seamed Bomber ($79) from ASOS to add oomph to your existing wardrobe. As for Tieka's tights, we like Spanx's Trinket Tights ($28) for a subtler take on a diamond pattern, or ASOS's Spider Net Tights ($9), for a more brazen, fun-filled version.

A faux-fur vest gives any ensemble a glam boho touch.
By now, we're positive that you know a faux-fur vest is a fall must-buy, so we were thrilled when we stumbled across Jessica, 25, from Los Angeles in a shaggy, black iteration. Her fuzzy outerwear adds a sophisticated air to her button-down shirt and leggings combo, without appearing over-styled. You too can snag this absolute outfit necessity by snatching up French Connection's Fast Big Foot Faux Fur Vest ($198). Additionally, we like how Jessica wore the gilet over an easy button-down, so we would slip on Helmut Lang's Cotton Lawn Shirt icon ($255) underneath. Although this is admittedly pricey for a white blouse, the batwing and shirttail front hem set this exceptionally detailed and interesting piece apart from like-minded basics.

Leather leggings and a neon blouse are a fresh combo for fall.
Contrasting textures always make for a fashionably complex look and the hot ensemble Gemini, 20, from Florida, opted for is no exception! Her choice of a sheer, gauzy blouse paired with black leather leggings is an exciting combination that really pops. Additionally, we love how she picked out such a bright-colored top, proving that winter-wear doesn't have to rely strictly on a muted palette. For an ensemble as equally stirring as Gemini's look, start with a great pair of leather skinnies as your base, like Alice + Olivia's Front Zip Leather Leggings ($698) or French Connection's Chir Leggings ($128). Then all you have to do is find a nearly-sheer top in a shocking hue. Try By Malene Birger's Demi-sheer Ruffle Blouse ($310) for a replica of Gemini's romantic pick or go for the Flash Lace Zip Tank ($218) from Madison Marcus for a racier silhouette.—Liza Kaplan

Someone mentioned about choosing women with different style aesthetics. I agree. I would also like to add that you need to choose women with different body types. Some of us have curves like J. Lo, Beyonce, and Kim Kardashian. It would be nice to see those body types as well.

I love the first outfit, it is so pretty and feminine. And pairing harem pants with OTK boots is very clever, I never would have thought of that.

Any time fashion and language come together, I am bound to be lurking and stalking myself. The images are true testaments that real women can dress like a celebrity. These are a few more items that'll help with dressing like these cheeky chicks. http://celebritymusthave.wordpress.com/2009/11/04/celebrities-know-its-better-where-its-sweater/

Becca's rose petal Satchel is a true candy! Personal style really is poetry... contemporary lyrics and so inspirational to see. Here in Paris there's so much to people-watch. I'm just sitting here in a café and taking it all in...

Liz Claiborne has an identical neon pink blouse for $24.99. I know because I bought it. TJ Maxx currently carries them!

I'm only really a fan of 1 and 3 in this group. They both look really classy and well done - although I am also a fan of no 6's neon and neutrals combination! http://dreamingspiresandoldcartyres.blogspot.com
