As often is the case with the New York Fashion Week, the weather has proven itself a sartorial challenge to work with. Obviously the fashion insiders who attend the shows have fall on the brain and want to wear their new goods, but with the sunshine beaming and temperatures hovering near double digits this week, compromises have to be made.
Which could explain the abundance of skirts spotted on the streets, particularly pleated midi skirts, a trend that's carried on for the past several seasons, and miniskirts. Surely more jeans and trousers will come into the mix as fashion month carries on and the temperatures drop, but for the time being, we're loving the statement the skirts are making and the genius styling hacks attendees are coming up with.
