Meghan Markle Wore 3 Trends in Her Official Engagement Photos With Harry

In the latest Prince Harry and Meghan Markle news, Kensington Palace has released the pair’s official engagement portraits. The shots were taken by Alex Lubomirski and they are stunning, to say the least. The happy couple’s photos were taken earlier this week at Frogmore House in Windsor (the town that they’ll marry in on May 19), and while we only see a glimpse of a cream sweater that Markle is wearing in one of the photos, the other two are clear indicators that Markle is very into the tastefully-sheer trend.

Just yesterday, for the Queen’s annual pre-Christmas lunch, Markle donned a black Self-Portrait dress with a sheer-lace bodice. In the portraits, Markle also chose a sheer-topped dress. The gown, by London-based designers Ralph & Russo, features metallic embellishments and a playful fringed skirt, which are two other trends (metallics and fringe) that are currently going strong. The glamorous yet tasteful look pretty much solidifies that the sheer trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, given Markle’s newfound sartorial influence.
