If hosting a chic holiday party ranks high on your to-do list this season, the first thing you do is acquire the perfect bottle of bubbly, and the second? Go pinning for festive ideas, of course! When it comes to pre-fete planning, Taylor Sterling, Glitter Guide founder and creative director, has plenty of imaginative and nifty party pointers that are sure to spice up your seasonal get-togethers. Today, she teams up with Chandon to show you just how easy it is to make a party “pop.” (Don’t worry, you’ll get it in a minute.)
“Your hostess outfit should go with the theme of the party, but it doesn't have to be too literal. Simply wear a colour that matches a colour in the decorations. Make sure it feels right for the occasion too. If it's fancy and fun, try to have your outfit match the vibe. We went with a Kate Spade New York cocktail dress in hot pink. It's playful and vibrant—just like our party.”
“This year we're inspired to give a unique spin on a classic party. For example, we created a party box filled with fun games and entertaining items for guests to enjoy that are a little unexpected."
“We worked with Brown Paper Design to create all of the vibrant florals. We especially loved the installation that hung from the ceiling.”
"Of course there was a styled bar cart full of Chandon and lots of vintage barware and curiosities, a great conversation starter for any get-together."
“The gold, black, and white used on the Chandon limited-edition bottle was our inspiration, and we added a pop of pink to bring our party to life. Tori Hendrix of Sitting In A Tree designed and styled the entire set based off of this fun colour inspiration.”
What’s the wisest entertaining advice you’ve ever received? “To have everything set for your party or dinner at least 30 minutes before your guests arrive so you can sit down and enjoy a glass of bubbly before the fun starts.”
Party favour of choice?
“Mini bottles of Chandon with patterned straw tied around with a pretty ribbon. “
