The Secret to Achieving Timeless Style
We're all for defining your own unique style, but at the same time, it's also great to have a look that's somehow timeless. But how do you go about building a wardrobe filled with timeless and classic pieces to achieve this? We've come up with four simple tips for mastering the art of individual yet timeless style (with the help of a few mavens such as Jenna Lyons and Emmanuelle Alt) and gathered our favorite staples for you to shop.
Investing in clothing and accessories that can be mixed and matched in interesting ways is key to achieving a timeless style. On our list of favorites? A crew-neck sweater, trench coat, well-fitted jeans, a white button-down, neutral accessories, and trousers.
Put your hard-earned money toward prints that you can wear forever. Steer in the direction stripes, animal print, and plaid.
Timeless style is largely about knowing your body, deciding what looks best on it, and owning it. An easy way to ensure you're doing that is by tailoring your clothes. A well-fitted blazer and trousers are your one-way ticket to timeless!
Now that you've invested in a well-fitted wardrobe, all that's left is styling it. We're huge proponents of proportion play and believe that balanced looks are always a success. Wearing a pair of super-slim cigarette jeans? Terrific! Throw on a chunky knit and toss a blazer over your shoulders. It's a look you can wear forever.
